Will an ipod bought in New York work in the uk? Sorry if this is a silly question
But it will only play American music
Genuinely new a person who didnt bring his radio cassette player back from spain as it only had spanish radio on it:cool: hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world :cool:0 -
Ooo sorry chap'ess then.
The "horror" story you heard probably related to them buying the laptop and it stopping working in the uk, however this would have nothing to do with the geographical location of the laptop, and the warranty being invalid in the UK, which is pretty standard practice with a lot of electrical gadgetry.
You will need to check to see if the ipod comes with an international warranty, if not then if the item goes wrong it will become a very expensive paperweight.

i've bought stuff from the US, and ended up shipping it back to the US, to get a repair under warranty.... i think i paid about £15 customs and vat, and handling fees as well when it got shipped back in after the repair. it was one of the sony hand helds.. going back about 6 - 7 years now, but i could still use the warranty, as long as i shipped it to them.. so that ain't a huge issue
as for an ipod... i've never had one break on me, and i've battered them around.... i upgrade for the fun of it most of the time...

Hi,
Me and my girlfriend have just booked flights to NYC for 11th-14th of December and I could use a little advice.
Firstly, I've been looking into hotels for a 3 days now and, like most people on here it seems, I'm having trouble finding anything decent for a fair price. I can find decent deals but they are quite a way from the centre and I'm not sure how safe the subway is, OK maybe I watch too many films but I've always considered the subway to be pretty dodgy, any truth in this?
Also, I cant find any other posts relating to this, we want to go and see the New York Rangers, I beleive they are playing on the Saturday 13th. Is it at all possible to get tickets? Do we need to pre book them weeks in advance or can we get them while we're there? If so how?
Any help would really be great,
Cheers0 -

i'd love to know what you mean, "quite away from the center" (spelt the american way, as we're talking about NYC)... Manhattan is the center, and anywhere is easy to get to, and things are so simple to get around.. the subway is safe, and fast, and reliable, up til 1am easily, though it does get less frequent then..
now, if you're looking at hotels in Queens or Brooklyn, then yeah, they are a little bit out of the center....
ticketmaster.com for rangers tickets, make sure you select the "will call" option, and you'll have no problems.. i've done this plenty of times to see the rangers or the knicks...
if you're lucky, you might be able to get them while you're there.. depending on the team they are playing..
