  • Signed off again for a week. Have now been referred to ENT although it's likely they will say I have a bad virus.
My mega shopping order was so worth it! I did drop a level on a lot of brands ( when did I go up a level? On toilet cleaner? I mean you literally flush it away. "I'd like to flush expensive liquid please"). Also got discounted ice-cream which is amazing, throat was so sore before. Two hours ago I could have sworn I had full blown tonsilitis. Now- pretty much fine. I'd like to go to see the fireworks tomorrow in the park so let's hope I stay this way.
Also bought a lot of cake ingredients, have a few friends coming over the next week plus am enjoying doing a bit of baking, will give me a sense if purpose.
Payday is on it's way next Friday...I've got almost enough scraps left in the bank and penny jar to pay the P Off card but I'll leave it until Friday in case of emergency.
I had been doing mobil@pressions but I had to uninstall it as it was stopping my internet from working. Not sold any more bay stuff, done a few rew@rdtv swaggy and inb@x points today.

Glad to hear you're so close to paying off the card! And about your throat feeling better! Sorry to hear about another week off work, must be a bit frustrating. How are you feeling?

  • Hi Catriona, I was up late...my sleep pattern is running 4am to 11am ish... I'll worry about fixing it when I feel better. Seem a lot better today but I've been here before!
Turns out I did sell an item on The bay of E for £8, that paid the cost of a prescription I had to pick up. Have got £3 in my purse to last until payday on Friday...not sure it will be enough!

I just paid the random P Off bill with my scraps of cash. I Have £12 in the bank and £3 in my purse. Still have £5 change to pay into bank and £15 expenses owed from work. So around £35, but have spend £45 on Dibs card so I'm finishing Oct in a few days around £10 down, and having paid a whopping £741 off my debt :)
A blooming miracle given that even only last month I was spending all of my wages within 10 days of being paid.

  • Hi all,
I'm recovering!! :j it's a miracle. My boss was so pleased when I called her today (in an exhausted -please come back I can't cope- kind of a way). My colleague has been off as well. So back to work on Friday (well working from home).
Thanks for all your messages, it does look like I paid a lot, but that will be a one-off for sure. After this it's slow and steady.

I just freaked out a bit as there was a really good swaggy offer (and I am greedy) for a couple of thousand points if you deposit and gamble £5 with a website. I'm not really a gambler, but as the points meant that by spending £5 I'd get £15 of points, I did it. Then I placed a bet on what I think are Brazilian football teams. I have no real concept of how odds work or any of that, I picked the lowest odds because they are most likely to win, right?! Anyway fair play to the lads I bet on because they did win and now I've got £12! I mean it's actually in my bank now  But I'm really worried that I'll become a gambling addict, which is irrational I know, but this is how it probably starts. I can close the account down in a few days, without betting again, can't I? I can. Of course I can.

Plus with that £7 profit I can get the bus to waitrose tomorrow to buy some xmas crackers ( they are half price seriously they are soooooo cheap and v good quality check the website) and pay my penny collection in to the bank that has a coin sorter.

  • Hey Gonna :T:j

Well done on your successes! Back to work and working through the debt too!

I looked on waitrose website last week and the Xmas stuff was half price, but now it isn't any more, and I was going to go today too... Gutted. Nice biscuit tins I was going to buy for family for Xmas ... I wonder whether they may still have the discount in store, even though the website doesn't show it any more...

  • Yes I got there, no offers. Checked the website...no offers. Must have just missed out which is a shame.
For the first time ever in 3 years the coin machine was working in the bank! £5 in 5ps and £10.02 in other change plus a USA dime.
Busy day tomorrow calling in to work then going for Nando's with a friend first major social interaction in weeks!
