  • Weekend went well. I did think I might go a bit over budget, which I was by £5- not bad at all!!!!
I spent £13 in the bargain store but only had £8 budget. I got some household essentials and a fair bit of food. Six pack of crisps 69p.
There might be a bit of cash in it for me though- my train was delayed and got in 40 mins late so I have applied for compensation online and if successful it will be paid cash to my bank and it could be £13!
Unfortunately I didn't get selected for the research so that was a blow.
I've asked to work from home for a while as my leave has run out and if I don't increase my hours my pay will be cut again. I think I could manage full hours from home, it's a lot of effort to get up, dressed and on the bus each day- and back home. There's 3 hours I could use to do work. I should find out next week.
This week's project is to think of some canapes I can make for these parties on Sat- I have two in one day which will also mean paying for train fare. One friend knows I'm broke and said not to bring anything, but I can make something to take, the other I have not told as yet and have bought wine a few weeks ago but also need to bring a canap!.
I guess I could do with making an effort with swaggy to see if I can earn, and cash another £5. Any more food this month needs to be bought from sainos on nectar card in blocks of £2.50!

I hope your work let you work from home for a while, that would be a huge help.

Have you heard of pinterest? Loads of canape ideas on there. Really amazing stuff actually.......going to have myself in a bit :)

Hope you have a good week :)

  • Thanks Ena :)
I got sidetracked from researching canapes as I had the idea to make paper (no really stick with me) apart from dodging the expense of buying a 1st anniversaty card for my friends, my pot pourri attempts are not working out brilliantly (I dried my bridesmaids bouquet) but what I'm going to do is make a card from handmade paper with the rose petals used in it! All I need is old paper (free metro/old letters) old tights (have plenty) water, heavy books to press, old towel, washing bowl, blender. And a frame which I can easily knock up from household items.
Just off to pick up the last few xmas presents from argus, reduced foot file machines around half price, very happy with that, goodbye broadband switch vouchers.

  • Paper has been made- it's really very impressive!
Today is "bills day" most dd's have left the bank and there's still some pennies left. Now there's two long waits, the wait until the pay is calculated so I can spy on my wages, and the wait until the 15th when I get paid.
One thing I know is that I'm no accountant, I once had to study it and I was so bad at it. Therefore my money management is still a bit of a mystery to me. But it seems to me that this month I will have managed on the 1200 loan, 373 wages and bay/swaggy earnings (admittedly these are about £60 I had a good run) so about £170 less than my usual wage. I've managed on it including paying debt/savings for debt and xmas presents. That is really quite impressive and I feel quite proud!

  • Virgin emailed to let me know I can expect a £13 refund in the next few days! They really are very good and I'll happily be delayed up to an hour each time I travel if they keep automatically refunding money to me!
Work are being fairly resistant to the "work from home" idea. I know why (they depend on me so much) but I need to recuperate.
I should be on for my £5 reward from my hulifax account tomorrow. Had a bit of a splirge in tisco's on the way home- I was starving, I know, worst time to shop. Spent £5 on cheese, ys bread and a cake! And some veggie sausages (which were yuk)
Not having much luck with swaggy of late, the surveys reach capacity whilst I'm doing them and the app of the day is always a broken link.
I have a bad feeling about one of my bay sales, an item which I thought went for a very high price...they emailed to say they hadn't recieved it before I marked it as dispatched...now they emailed again saying they might open a case with bay as it has not arrived, can I tell them where it is....the other two sent at same time, one to the same postal area, have arrived no problems. I told them to ask their postie! I don't know where it is, it didn't have gps fitted! I think a refund request will be coming my way very soon.

  • Quite a positive day - found a pound on the floor of the bus- bonus! Got selected for a research panel next week, £50 cash- brilliant. Got a cancellation appt with the Occ Health dr tomorrow, so work from home could become a reality very soon!
Going to occ health, going to and from the research panel and visiting on Saturday all involve paying for tube fares which I didn't have budgeted but as I'm getting £50 cash I can afford it no problem.
I think it's time soon to do a review of all spending since the start of the diary, and a plan for going forward with the new loans. I've made amazing improvements but it's just the start, and I am overspending on shopping. I certainly have not started any weight loss either.

I moaned about swaggy the other day but it's picked up again -plus I got a bonus 108 sb from November, so I've just cashed another fiver :)
Inb@x pounds is going ok, nearly £9 earned in two months. Have to get to £20 to cash out though.
Hopefully I will get £10 voucher from gfk as I downloaded the app monitor three weeks ago. I can collect a few for birthdays next year.
Saw the occ health who think I should work from home on one day a week, permanently....so that's a bonus. Let's see what happens. I'll need to stay on part time for the rest of the month and possibly Jan too.
I caved in this evening and got a takeaway for tea £4.20... It was so nice though!
I'm still not sure how my wages will work out- another week to wait to find out.
My minimum outgoings are around 1400 if I skip saving to repay debt and for xmas/bdays, and don't eat and use the bus for work.

  • Yuk. Total relapse. Feel like blurgh. Slept all day and missed both parties, although I did make canapes and eat them all.
Splurged on a tisco delivery shop to arrive tomorrow. It's such a pain having to spend £40, but going into the shops themselves requires a lot of effort and a lot of value lines are suspiciously absent even in the big store.
Looks like I will be off sick/back on ssp next week. Although if I am up all night I'm going to do a few hours of work, then if I can work from home I'll just "produce" that. And just watch emails when I'm "supposed" to be working.
Must get better before thursday's consumer panel!

  • I now have a dr's note saying I need to work from home for a week. I'm very sneezy. I was told that I wouldn't be paid for working from home on Monday as it wasn't agreed in advance(!) but my boss is off so hopefully she will reverse that!
Fell asleep earlier so wide awake now. Swaggy back on the blink, no surveys or downloads for days. Found another item to bay- cousin's old game boy!
Section 75 paperwork came through, I need to provide evidence so that will take some effort and reprint of statement which I will have to pay for. Tiny telly is doing me well though!
