Sky withdrawing package mid-term

I had free line rental and that is why I left negotiating my phone/bb until just over a week to go.
At first,I got someone who wasn't even sure of prices and messed up what I had agreed (or rather not agreed).
A second call, questioning their action, resulted in me actually paying £4/month less than last year. I have gone from Original to Variety (on half price offer), but have gained the calls to mobiles.0 -
I rang them as I said, to try and beat the line rental increase. She asked me then, if I wanted to be put through to team, for a new contract.I said I would wait till line is due, then negotiate a deal, if possible. There's no way can I better what I;m on now, so, re-thinking, will just leave it alone for another month, unless they force my hand.
I only pay £7.10 pm for anytime calls, mobiles, and unlimited BB+ line rental.(already paid upfront) That won't be beaten.as I would have to negotiate Simply BB
let sleeping dogs lie awhile:beer:

That's why I'm out of contract, for years I thought renewing your line, renewed your contract..NO, they are separate things, so just did my line last year, £172,and contract expired without me knowing or being notified, and been out since, .
None of the increases they said were coming ,in the last 12 months, were applied to me??
Not complaining :-)
Glad you got sorted.Presume you had to take an 18 monther?
I think perhaps that may be what I will have to do that to get a reasonable deal, but, I've always been happy with them
See what happens .:beer:0 -

Contracts don't renew or end with LR/BB. All that happens is that you come to the end of your minimum term. After that you stay on the same contract with one month's notice.
When you agree to recontract, you are agreeing to a new minimum term. Your contract is still the same as it always was but by agreeing to extend your minimum term means that you can't leave without penalty except in the case of a price rise. This tie-in allows them to offer discounts to keep your business.None of the increases they said were coming ,in the last 12 months, were applied to me??
Now that is unusual. Perhaps they didn't apply to your package?Glad you got sorted.Presume you had to take an 18 monther?
With Sky recontracts are 12 months. Some offers, but usually on the TV side, don't require a recontract.0 -
Sky have confused me.
What I was told surprised me, so I will have to check again, unless someone else has been given the same information :
My billing date is 15th.
Nov15-Dec14 has £16.40 line rental quoted and Anytime £5 (Anytime extra is £5 for the first month)
Dec14-Jan14 has £17.40 line rental, but the calls still at £5. (Should go up to £8 on Jan1)
Jan15-Feb14 all as expected.
1) I asked if the first bill would be adjusted for the Dec1 increase in line rental, (The calls package is £5 for a month) and was told that it should be changed.
2) I then said I assumed that the second bill would change too, in order to accommodate the increase in calls as the £5 offer ends on Dec31, but was told that the £8 will only apply on the Jan15 bill, as charges are based on billing dates and not when a price changes. (Odd?)
3) I had assumed that any calls to mobiles would be inclusive from Dec1, as the actual package is active, though cheaper from then, but as the price increase would be deferred by two weeks, was this still the case ? The lady didn't know, went to ask and replied that they would still be inclusive from Dec1.
There is no problem over adjusting prices (just wait and see), but calling a mobile on Dec1, if given the wrong answer to (3), could be expensive.0 -

My father's future subs are the same. Increase doesn't appear till the January bill. There is no problem over adjusting prices (just wait and see), but calling a mobile on Dec1, if given the wrong answer to (3), could be expensive.
Make one mobile call after December 1st and then check your calls ( probably next day before it shows ) and see how it's being charged.0 -
Will do.I'm one of those who waits, gathers info, then dives in.
Then drowns
:rotfl:
As in a court date, you can never be over prepared.
Know what you want, know what others are offering written down, sit with a cuppa and if you smoke, a ciggy, and a pen and paper taking the details of the offer/s, tell them your writing it down if they are going too fast.
Their aim is to keep you as a customer as profitable as possible, your aim is the opposite
Of course they want to bamboozle you, and fluster you to stay at high profit as quickly as poss, dont let them, its your cash not theirs :rotfl:SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... I was so pleased that I have sent her manager good comments about her (not any easy task, as there is only a link for complaints).
Apparently, if they get compliments, they can win an award , so anyone with praise, do make contact . (After giving up on online chat -obviously script driven abroad, then ringing, only to get another foreign person, who misunderstood and thought my broadband was not working, the latter put me through to 'broadband tech', where a nice man sent a message on my behalf).0
