Op went ahead, Mum still in recovery though, hoping it is just a bed issue.
    ...
May hospital visit later depending on how Mum is.

So glad to hear that she has had her op - wishing her a speedy recovery, and calming vibes to you, Dusty x

I have had a phonecall this afternoon from one of my nephews to say that his father, my 88-yo half-brother (the one who was in hospital and then a rehabilitation centre for the elderly for several months earlier this year) died peacefully early this morning. He was glad to be at home again, and he and his wife had enjoyed a visit to a local garden centre on Saturday, but then he started feeling ill on Sunday and was admitted to hospital yesterday afternoon. He had a good life, an interesting job and a longlasting marriage - 66 years - and they have been able to build up many good memories of places they've visited and things they've done. He was a lot older than me, and for a long time I felt that he was very distant, even critical of me, but in recent years we have got to know each other better and he was able to tell me a lot about our father. A sad loss...

I haven't really done much off my list yet. The food at the SW Christmas party was excellent and I've had a long chat with my friend this afternoon :D

Ionafan sorry to hear of your loss. I'm glad he had a great life but it still stings.

    Hoovered
    Fed mogs
    Done DS3's dinner

Going to washup and mop. Mum still not on the ward but due to bed issues, she is ready to go up there.

Aww sorry to hear your news iona xx

Glad your mum is through the op ok, dusty xx

Kinda bushed here. Voice improving but cough still in place. Worked from 6.30, stopped at Mr A on way home for fridgey items, collected littlies then took DD for her flu wotnot. Finally got home to make tea and sort them out for bed.

Am now bushed so will just clear up after tea and call it a night. WFH tomorrow so that feels less stressful although I appear to have inherited a godawful job today - we'll see how it pans out. Out whole team is almost diverted to focus on this one thing to the exclusion of all others. Until someone asks what happened to the others <rollseyes>

DD thought it was a good idea earlier to practice a pirouette while holding a frube  so I've had the mop out already. Little beastie. I will let her off cos she was very brave at the docs and she did some very nice reading tonight ;)

I knew I would start to feel frazzled with all these weekends away. And I'm piling weight back on. But as of tonight's shop I'm back on the wagon, on the plan and on my way!

    So there :p

  • Just checking in quickly. Been out with DS1 which was nice, although we had to rush back to take DS2 to footie.

Condolences Ionafan. Sounds like a peaceful end to a good life, glad you had the chance to get to know him better before it was too late.

Tired tonight. Bit of telly then bed soon.
