A welcome return for the triply excellent 5% offering, but it wasn't heralded on the MSE headline pages. I just spotted it buried in the lists of banks offering incentives & high interest here where it states To get the switching bonus, you need to apply for the account by 2 November, and fully switch to it using TSB's switching service by 23 November. Click on the link immediately below the title however, and it's a different story. MSE obviously haven't bothered to check the terms shown there because whilst the first paragraph states the above, the second one (eligibility) says we are all too late because some idiot at moneysupermarket.com has pasted in the deadlines from the previous offer! You'd think a concern paying £20m for a website wouldn't tolerate such an amateurish look about it. Furthermore, it states three DDs have to be set up, but it's anyone's guess whether they include the two that you may or may not need before you start the switching process. So, an extra page of posts for clarification, I expect.....

I also noticed that.
I also rarely check MSE main pages for bank account information, as they analyse everything from the viewpoint that everybody should just have one current account.
For example the new Natwest account has been analysed and dismissed as it has no switching bonus and only works out the best under certain circumstances e.g. if your DDs are less than £270 you'd get less than £5 a month so you'd be better off with Halifax Reward account. But I already have one of those and will gain an extra £4.50 a month by having certain bills from this Natwest account in addition to it. But I doubt it will get too much more press.
The TSB account is brilliant for small amounts, but MSE don't expect people to have three of them in addition to other accounts. If you have £10k then just having a TSB account is not as good as others, so it goes down the pecking order.0 -
YB click on the link in my post then click on the link immediately below the title like I said. Does that not lead to

The other thing I noticed is that it has to be a new TSB account i.e. you can't use the switching service to switch an old account to a TSB account you've had for a while. Again, MSE don't mention this as they don't assume people would want to do that, so I have to go hunting in T+Cs.
Still, better that I make my own decisions and am not spoon-fed by the press eh!0 -

Not for me. I go to the TSB website.
And clicking this link you just posted takes me to the MSM homepage....0 -

IMO a requirement to set up 3 new DDs after switching would make no sense.0 -

MSE/Moneysupermarket will have no control over what TSB publish on their web pages. The size of the MSE audience doesn't change that fact.0 -

That goes to the TSB page YB posted the URL for.0
