Britain and the EU

Define 'direct rule'.
ETA, please
A much reduced size of UK Parliament due to most decisions being made in Brussels. Never going to happen. I wouldn't vote to stay if I thought this was a realistic outcome.
Even Thrug's concern about complete standardisation of tax, welfare and pensions (etc) across Europe seem highly unlikely. It's was only a few months ago everyone was wetting themselves about the impending demise of the Euro and here we are whittling about direct rule from the Death Star that is Brussels.0 -

Surely it's the boundaries in which parliament are contained within rather than the size of the parliament that matters?
It's been clearly stated many times by those at the top of the EU that he aim for the Eurozone is ever closer integration and harmonisation.
You could triple the size of parliament tomorrow. Wouldn't make a jot of difference to the EU rules that are governed upon the UK.0 -

You define direct rule then.
At least my definition can be measured. At what point does ever closer integration and harmonisation become direct rule? Sounds a bit woolly.0 -

Once you have decided to leave the EU, you tell them of your intention. At which point, the EU "shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State, setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for its future relationship with the Union".0

What does that mean if it's not suggesting a move towards the same rule of law, policies, rights, benefits across the Eurozone?
I suppose as with any other vague statement it can mean pretty much anything.0 -

Doesn't define direct rule.
Direct rule by Brussels is thrown out there to worry people because most people will define it as I do. Scaremongering and the usual !!!!!!!isation of definitions for political gain.0 -

I've never seen or heard of her as far as I'm aware.
Not sure where the "you like to lie" thing has come from...or even why it was needed in all honesty.
I'm not your butler, a trivially simple google search for the phrase or image lookup would have found you the answer; it was a pretty big deal at the time, and I'll bet that there's a thread on here about it and that you commented more than once in it.
I said you like to lie, because you have a habit of doing it. I absolutely and entirely disbelieve your claim that:I also don't think anyone, at least that I have seen who believes we are better off out of the EU either believes or wants to chuck people out of the country.
You have seen at least a few examples of people who want to leave the EU and want to kick people out. You may not agree with the sentiment, but that doesn't make pretending you've never heard it any less of a lie. I could name three specific high profile UKIP examples, and am confident that I've heard a dozen more I couldn't name explicitly.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -
In light of recent Brussels negotiations with Turkey, would people still remain pro-EU if it became a member? They are an EYESORES!!!!0

No!!!!
The kippers will be an irrelevancy by the next election anyway.
The EU referendum will have been held by then and thus their raison d'être will have gone.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0
