Barclays Took £2 Million from me

There are no transactions showing for the £500,000Can't you do a list of the last 10 transactions or something, rather than just getting a balance.
When in my case, it has happened. An account can't have £1 in it one day, and be £499999 overdrawn the next day, without some sort of transaction happening on the account
Guys/Gals, I did post on here hoping to get some advise one way or another. Although I am very appreciated on the advice given by some of you, the ones that dont believe me or questioning my story, please dont post anything.
As the saying goes "If you have nothing good to say..."0 -
The Barclays text alerts used to list the last few transactions - but now they just say the current balance (sigh - another improvement I suppose)
I take it that you are unable to log into your internet banking on a PC/laptop etc to see and list exactly what transaction have been occurring on your accounts in the recent past?
-I'd guess that this is also blocked to you.
Edit: if indeed this is some form of AML intervention there is nothing you can do - that bank is powerless themselves to do anything until the NCA have reviewed it.
It is also an offense for the bank to reveal if they are treating it is an AML issue.0 -
What sort of business do you have ? What type of transactions do you make ? Do you deal with other companies/persons in other countries ?
There is probably something Barclays have spotted that has made them suspicious. If your accounts have been frozen for AML investigations, you'll have to wait until theyr'e finished then make a formal complaint and give them evidence of all losses you have incurred.

The title of this thread is very misleading.
If you did not have 2 million in your accounts how can they have taken it from you?
Very bizarre thread.0 -
If you have a business account with Barclays, then presumably you are part of their Premier Banking.
If so have you contacted your "Relationship manager" they are available 24/7 and I have always found them to be very good at sorting out any problem I have had.0 -
If your account is £500K overdrawn, normally this means you owe this amount to the bank.POPPYOSCAR wrote: »The title of this thread is very misleading.

If it had ~£0 balance and is overdrawn now, normally this means that the money was taken from you.
"Normally" seemingly doesn't apply to Barclays.0 -
when they're carrying out fraud/money laundering investigations, which would also tie in with the fobbing off/blanking you've been getting, as if they are investigating you/your accounts for money laundering they aren't allowed to tell you.
If that were the case would they not also block the online banking access, though?0 -

Very bizarre thread.
Translation, they have debited each of the four accounts with 500k a piece. Total in theory owed to Barclays 2 million. I assume all online access blocked. Previously working accounts effectively frozen. Staff cannot do anything or say anything, just stonewall. AML at work.
Inconvenient if you have a business to run, staff to pay, bills to pay, mortgage to pay, petrol to buy, food to buy ........... And like others, it's always Barclays I've heard that deal with AML investigations in this particular fashion.
OP, if true, there is absolutely nothing you can do except wait it out. Oh, and pray the business is still there when it's resolved.0 -
Goldiegirl - I dont mind the asking of questions. Like you said it helps. But there have been people on here who are commenting that this is a joke.
meer53 - I have one personal training business (I have my owe gym which I might have to close because of this). And one internet business.0
