all very well , but for every one person that has read up on this subject , and understands the flaws , 99 will think (or be !!!!!!!!ted) into believing the BPA and loose in court.
It needs bringing to their attention by the press , in a format they can read/hear and understand.
much as there are forums like MSE , and blogs like PP , how many people have actually heard or seen those sitesSave a Rachael

@TD, I agree with PG. 99% of people wouldn't know where to start with court papers. Can you imagine the support that would be demanded from the forum and I for one don't have the detailed knowledge to advise on defending a claim at court, and I certainly don't have the time (or inclination) to learn.
There are only a tiny few regular posters who have detailed court knowledge. And you surely recognise that the workload required to put together a decent court defence is many times greater than a POPLA appeal. You also know it's not a case of just rockng up to 'have your day in court' then having a rant at the Judge and PPC rep.
I think the throwaway advice you're giving TD is dangerous. Unless of course you will be providing detailed guidance and on-call help via the forum to shocked and stunned defendants?
I believe that anyone offering any sort of advice which has consequences must be prepared to help the advised person right the way through the process - the whole way. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

they will believe the !!!!!!!! sprouted by the BPA that the bevis ruling makes their case non fightable
how many new users come on here , pepipoo and other forums that think its magistrates court , its a "fine" and bailiffs will come and take their children (not forgetting killing their puppy's)
publicity is what this needs , so that people understand , and can go to court armed with the other half dozen reasons the PPCs case is flawed .
the press reporting on the bevis case missed out a lot , and the PPCs and the BPA are using this as a blanket "GPEOL is non applicable <as proved by the bevis case> now pay up or go to court"
FULL press coverage of this BPA/POPLA/London councils/ombudsman services cockup , and the cover up that is happening needs to be done , however this will go over the heads of the average Sun / mirror reader.Save a Rachael

Umko, whilst you may agree with PG, can you put up a convincing argument, 99 percent of the general public are thickos? I think not.
In any case, my advice is not meant to be read by anyone, those who cannot be bothered to educate themselves deserve all they get. If you want to save money, then you should make an effort to learn the ground rules.
I think the throwaway advice you're giving TD is dangerous
It is if you are a you are a disciple. It is not if you are able to think for yourself. I would also question your use of the word "throwaway". I do not write for the masses, but for the sentient few.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
to educate , you must make "knowledge" available to the student.
if this was published by the media in the form of TV coverage or a WELL written statement my a person that was KNOLAGABLE on the subject , instead of internet forums , that often give the wrong or outdated info , then "education" would arrive to the massesSave a Rachael

So - I have the letter the BPA sent to Nicola Mullaney at ISPA. She was kind enough to forward me a copy.
I would post it, but it will be on Prankster/BPA/ISPA websites before long. Simple summary
- appeals judged on the full points raised, beyond commerical justification alone
- new evidence will be allowed
The when and how is not detailed. So we will have to wait for news on that one.
Overall, great job by ISPA and the other stakeholders and consumers who have been lobbying. This shows that with our support ISPA, under the current leadership, have influence with the BPA. And credit where credit is due... BPA and Patrick Troy saw the light in the face of the evidence.0
