  • I managed a no plastic day yesterday but spent cash, me & my sister took my mum on a wee day out so may have overspent a wee bit.

Today will be grocery shopping on a strict £55 budget, cooking lunches for the week & chilling out later on.

  • Well done you mavvy, I am defo gonna try for a couple of NSW (Non Spend Weekends) in November. Know for a fact I won't fit any in this month.

I spent on my card this morning, the usual rushing around & not being organised meant no time to take a detour to the ATM this morning before getting my coffee in, still will keep within my weekly spends this week I am determined.

I may get the hang of this cash only life eventually.

Post office done.A couple of needed bits brought.Cash drawn out and ready for the week .I WILL NOT SPEND ON MY CARD. I have to tax my car so have to use my card for that as do it online. But I dont mind that as not an impulse card spend ;)

    Good luck

  • I love the idea of this challenge! It may sound silly but it just doesn't feel like spending when I use my card, will definately make me think twice if I have to hand over cash.
Did you decide on a weekly 'allowance' to withdraw?

    Welcome vintagegal

yes I have decided on a cash amount to draw on a Monday. I havent left myself totally skint:rotfl:But not a lot left over once everything I need has been paid for.
It just makes you think a bit more as you say spending on a card doesnt seem like money somehow.

Also I just think how short my bank statment will be rather than going over 3 pages :o That is where I will notice this challenge is working for me;)

So let us know how you have decided how this will work for you:)and good luck.

    Hey,

You have a number - welcome to the squad!

I work out my budget then withdraw that amount each week, however I have been very bad this week & have been using my Debit Card.

Next week for sure I am leaving the card at home.
