Have been to hospital for routine appointment. The first time I have remembered to take a book and they were running early...
Managed to come home by bus! This is the first time I have managed to get on a bus or visit the centre of York since early July.
Had tea, washed up and settled on sofa for an evening of BBC2 - Great British Menu, University Challenge and Only Connect. Then probably an early night... I am a little bit cream crackered..:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

I keep jumping on the flying wagon and falling straight off again:( House isn't looking great... I work full time (day time) and have just realised that I don't have any free evenings at home now until part way through half term! I know there are lots of really busy people on this thread. Any ideas of how I can make some headway and not wear myself into the ground? When I come home from work I am really tired and all I can do is get food on the table for the 6 of us. Cancelling forthcoming evening activity isn't really an option as some of it is because I will be away from home for a few days. Do people have a 'best time of day' when they fly like crazy? It all seems overwhelming at the moment.Living the dream, one moment at a time. It's not always easy but there are sparkles of joy around every corner.

Rach.. it sounds like you need a family tidy-time.. you all spend half an hour cleaning and flinging.. a list of chores and everyone picks one and are given one.. so 2 jobs each.. any extra time is spent doing stuff that is necessary like loading appliances, pot washing, work surface wiping.. loo cleaning etc.
I am thinking we need to implement this kind of thing in here I am run ragged!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Evening all
Today has been mad busy so flying has not happened; paid stuff for the next 3 days with car to garage at 8am and haircut at 3pm tomorrow. DS3 has a 13 hour day with school, badminton tournament and open evening, we are only just in from cricket.
I'm going to tidy the kitchen and cook pizza for DS3 to take to school tomorrow to have cold for dinner, he will have to walk into town for lunch as no school dinners due to open day.
Frizzle - you ok? not seen you post for a while.
CY glad the hospital was on time and you could manage the bus.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Cy glad the appt ran on time and you are feeling ok.
Pigpen good luck with the craft Faye hope you get enough made and get lots of sales.
Finished all the ironing, had a major tidy and sort in one of the spare rooms DD3 popped round and had a sort of the stuff she's eblaying and set some aside to CS or bin along with some bedding for the animal sanctuary and some bean bags for DD1 and DD2s dogs. Got the lads to tidy their own rooms - laundry basket and kitchen bin are now full!!!
Going to do pack ups now and head to bed.SPC~12 ot 124

Rach I can sympathise. I get up half an hour earlier than I need to. I am a morning person so most of the time this doesnt bother me. Its amazing what I can get done in 30 minutes while everyone else is still in bed.
Little and often is crucial. I have an old fashioned carpet sweeper and whiz that around every day. Its brilliant. Every morning when I get out of the shower I grab a cleaning wipe and swish the bathroom. Every night before I go to bed I do a quick sweep round the house for dirty laundry/pots to go in the dishwasher/things that need rehoming.
If you have got little kids its hard but do thing about decluttering too. I got into the Kon-Marie idea of getting rid of stuff and it's made a huge difference. As Pigpen says try and get everyone else on board too - although I still end up doing most of it.
Oh and stick around here, we are a friendly bunch and you will get lots of encouragement.0 -
Hi all
Welcome rach the only tip I have is set your kitchen timer for 15min and just crack on. We can manage 15min, yes? It whizzes by but you'll be amazed how much you get done if you think that's all you have to do. And often, you get on a roll, and don't notice the bing and carry on!
Well tonight has not gone to plan.
Got to college to find out the course is cancelledI wasn't contacted as apparently I'm on the January list, even though I got all the October enrollment emails. Gah. Never mind. Disappointed but I suppose in 5yrs it won't matter and I won't even remember.
Came home to school nonsense! DS thinks he can't go on his school trip because he hasn't done his homework! Bliddy TA has told him so! I'm rather hopping mad! He has done his homework. And even if not, the teacher needs to take that up with me and not allow his TA to threaten 6yr old kids with not going on (tomorrow's) school trip!
On the other hand, teacher has told him he needs to be in school early, when both hands are pointing to the 9, so they can set of on the trip early (which concurs with the letter from last week). Confused yet?
Methinks TA is getting a bit above her station! Granny will be doing the school run tomorrow and is going to let teacher know what was said, and how inappropriate it is. I shall also speak to him next week at parents evening.
This school is sending me grey since it took academy statusit's feeling distinctly unfriendly.
