maybe add shoplifter to the title of the thread.

Sounds like some drunk old guy tried to nick loads of products from morrisons and they've taken them back off him.

I don't really think they've done anything wrong here!

Why didn't they take him to the back to do that, why have him sprawled over the floor in front of everyone?

You said he was making a racket? And drunk ? Looks like they were trying to stop him hurting himself. If he wasn't cooperating a younger person would have been forcibly taken to the back . Are you suggesting forcibly manhandling him at 70 would have been a better option?

I really dont see how obscuring your view has offended you. It's not your right to gawp. Also for all you know he may have had a habit of turning nasty. As you didn't even see the initial stop you don't know what happened-he may have tried to assault the woman.

Sounds like he was wasted. They probably didn't feel that he was in a fit state to walk to a back room.

I don't think there is any reason why someone who is trying to steal products should be taken to a backroom to save him from embarrassment. I accept they often do take people to a back room but with a drunk guy I imagine they would rather keep him where he is?

He was more in danger of falling when they had him stand and try to remove items from his clothes. He could easily have been supported and walked to the back as there were 5 of them around him, including 2 burly security men.

He lost all rights to decent treatment when he decided to shoplift.
Maybe being made a spectacle of will put him or others off in the future. And no, I don't give a toss that he was old/ill/drunk. Tough.

They probably didn't want to touch a drunk 70 year old man who had stuffed numerous items down his pants.

I hope all of you are perfect and never suffer mental disability, or grow too old for that matter.

When I get old I'm hoping not to get drunk and try and rob a supermarket :)
