Jojo it sounds like you put your girls clothes in the freezer before they wear them!!! Hope they enjoy the party.

    I thought that too!

    Hi all!
I've not had a very MSE day, been feeling a bit down and before I knew it I was in town - luckily I capped myself at spending £15, so not major damage but it definatly could of been!

    Today I will;

    - List bits on Ebay
    - Check online banking :\
    - Quick tidy up at home
    - Go and see Mum - Done!
    - Do surveys

Have a good weekend all x

Yorkshire lass & Bob, Thank you ds1 (& my sis) have had a lovely birthday :)

We've been out for birthday breakfast with my parents, sis & niece, we went to Harvester for the 8 of us it should have been £44.39 but hubby was able to buy a £40 gift card through his works perks for £36 and I used my sant cc to pay the balance so will get 5% off the balance too.

Home then to help ds's build the new lego sets, they were thrilled with them.

Dh bought a tv from someone at work and came home with it yesterday, I wouldn't have bought it as I don't think it was really needed as the one its going to replace wasn't broken its just very big, bulky and not very energy efficient (according to dh) as it was a plasma one, but we aren't in debt & do have savings and he is the one who earns the money so I can't complain.
Anyway it means that the kids can now have amaz0n prime/iplayers etc via an app on the tv rather then having to stream it off one of our laptops. (He was saying to take the plasma to tip or sell it but i'm going to store it in one of the wardrobes and keep it for a back up)
oh and he needed to get some power adapters for the above (also bought gift vouchers via works perks and saved 7% to then buy them from currys)
Dh & my dad replaced the handle on my wardrobe that snapped off earlier in the week :)
No heating on, jumpers & fleece blankets here.
Entertainment will be something off Netflixs again
Tonights meal will be left overs and I'm going to use some naan bread and add some tom puree and grated cheese for a make do pizza for the boys ;)

Sounds like everyone is having a productive day :)
    Ally/Ziggy hope you're doing ok.

Off to quickly check lucky phone/fpl then cwtches on the sofa with the boys & a film
  • Thanks Foxgloves, Ally and Princesspea for the car boot advice - I will have a look at the stuff when I'm over at my mam's tomorrow and see what I think. I don't know if some of the stuff may just be worth eBaying. I'm not overrun with self confidence for dealing with people bartering for nothing.

I see Sunderland have still failed to win a match this season - expect the boys will be in a foul mood when they arrive home. I'm updating early today because I might pop out later when the boys get back with the car to complete the shopping then it'll be pretty much straight off to bed.

    [STRIKE]:p check banking and PAD[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p read meters and submit[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p tiny top up shop from one of the cheaper supermarkets[/STRIKE] I've started this at BM bargains in town but there are a few things that I will need to pop out for a little bit later that I just couldn't get there.
    [STRIKE]:p meals from stores[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p bit of housework and declutter (although I am passing this to dh while he's off work)
    :p washing[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p try not to put the heating on (brrrrr)[/STRIKE]Not yet but it is getting cold
    [STRIKE]:p ds to football[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:p both kids to gymnastics[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p inventory food stores (don't think I need to batch cook this weekend)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:p enjoy a girlie afternoon with dd while the boys watch Sunderland being rubbish at football again.
[/STRIKE]We haven't done much other than watching tv - she's not very well today. Upside is dh being off work if she needs a day or two off school
    [STRIKE]:p pick up prescriptions [/STRIKE](urgent)

    I've also
:p done my daily exercise carrying a bag of shopping home from BM that weighed 3 stone (I actually weighed it when I got home)
:p marked another 5 controlled assessments
    :p flea treated the cats
    Productive day so far.

JoJo- I meant to reply regarding Netflix recommendations. Shows I have loved, American Horror, there are 3 series released in the UK so far, although season 4 was on US ages ago and 5 is about to begin. It's fantastic. It follows the same actors throughout the series but they play different characters in each. It stars Jessica Lang, & she is simply marvellous in every series. The first series is set in the Murder House, which is bought by people who have no idea of its history. As you'd expect lots of creepy things happen. ..season 2 is set in a mental institution and stars Joseph Finnes, season 3 is set in New Orleans and is about a coven of witches, that one has Cathy Bates as one of the main characters.

If that doesn't grab you I'd also recommend Bloodline, which is a Netflix original series set in florida. It stars Ben Mendelson you may have seen in Batman? He plays the black sheep of a seemingly otherwise happy family of 4 adult children and their parents. They own and run a hotel on the coast and have a seemingly idlyic life. Until he returns and starts causing trouble. You find out that there is a lot more going on than meets the eye....

Anyway both of these shows are really good in my humble view and kept us engaged for a long time.

Legomum- what a lovely day it sounds. The TV will be a plus overall by the sounds of it. Great savings at harvester!

Well, my brave expedition into the deepest perils of the under-bed storage unit yielded 5 pictures for the charity shop, one to offer to my Mum, 2 nice unused items for re-gifting & 7 magazines for listing on eBay. Mr f made a good start on the tech graveyard. I also gained a free unused pair of earphones for my mini DAB radio. He passed them to me to throw in the bin! Only one earhole works on my old ones, so I nabbed his unwanted ones to save a few quid!

  • I love American Horror Story too - I watched Season 4 on Fox when it came out (season 5 starting this month). As for Netflix, I loved Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul; Orange is the New Black and The Killing. I've been looking for something new to watch on there myself and my sister has recommended Sons of Anarchy.

Evening all. Just about to sit and watch rugby with DH, have a cheeky cider in hand :o

Bob OH works for a large supermarket and they gave them away to all of their staff apparently. I can live with that - free food :D

Ziggy re your note on WW cards, are they propoints ones? If so would be very interested, have loads of old stuff but little knew and am going to rejoin this week. Would happily pay you for them.

DNMS lovely to 'see' you back, glad you had a good hols, hope you feel relaxed after it

I have been to cash and carry today, half of what I spent I'll get back as its for other people and I get 2% cashback on spends so all good, was really good and only bought the 3 or 4 things on my list

Will do labelling whilst watching rugby, DH said he would help :D

Hope you're all having a great Saturday :)
