My other cats have not taken to them at all, Chester keeps hissing at them and running away and Estelle wouldn't come in the house last night, any suggestions?
A couple of ideas I have heard are to keep them in separate rooms for the first few days and let your older cats get used to the smell of the new ones being in the house and visa versa (we did this when introducing Kaya to our two girls). You can let them sniff at each other through an ajar door and when you think it will be ok you can let them meet properly.
I have heard that smearing them with mackerel/pilchard juice and then feeding them all mackerel/pilchards might get them to start cleaning each other and therefore liking each other better (I’ve not tried this one)Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.0 -

Have to agree there, all my cats answer to "are you hungry?"0 -
I like Phoenix but that is our car’s name. (Our last car set on fire so this one ‘rose from the flames’ and has a P Reg)
The names I like so far are:
Compo
Cisco
Ziggy
I do like Archimedes but I agree with having short simple names for cats - maybe Plato instead? :rolleyes:Your home is at risk if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage or other loan secured on it.0 -

Wouldn't that sound like you are hissing at them all the time?My cats hate hissing noises - like aerosols etc. or when they jump on to your knee and dig all thier claws in and you make that hissing/sucking noise.

When I saw this thread again I thought "I wonder how Scabby Bob is?"
You can give him a fancy name Penny but to me, he'll all ways be Scabby Bob :rotfl:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -

Knowing my cats they will try and eat them!!
Thanks for the tip I shall try that later.
I think Bob is a cool name for a cat, you should keep that for him!0 -
scooby...like scaby but nicer...... after scooby-doo of course....or a scooby-snack if the other cats want to ear him when he's covered in mackerel....0

I don't agree with changing their name. That is why three of my four 'second-hand' cats kept their name and the fourth was called CAT (I did not know his name).0
