I have ALWAYS wanted a cat called Archimedes! - mainly cus i think it will make me look intelligent.
my family has the same tendancy to being adopted by stray cats! My dad alwys curses them and then dotes over them endlessly when he thinks no one is looking - hee hee!
We were once adopted by a little ginger kitten (funny how they move in without you really noticing) anyway it grew into the size of small lion - we were a bit worried about its orgins actually! (called Jasper).
There is also a cat called psycho betty, that lives on my parents front door mat, it actually belongs to a family over the road but for some reason LOVES their house - its called 'psycho betty' cus it has huge boggly eyes and tries to scratch everyone as they step over it to get in the door - my parents are too nice to remove it!I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!
Money to raise for tuition fees: £3000
When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!!0 -
That's why my parents adopted cat ended up being called titch. She was so small and cute. She didn't meow...but chirruped at people. When people spoke back...she would chirrup again. She didn't walk anyway, but trotted. And her tail was constantly in the air.
The second our other cat walked by up she would get...go over...and shuv her head in front of the other cat so that she got a wash.
Titch turned out to be an apt name...as even when she was old she looked the size of a 'teenage cat' (if you know what I mean).Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
Mekon is a wonderful name - I named my kitten that and I've never heard any other cat called it. It runs from the tongue great! :rotfl:0

well, what colour is the cat?
friends of mine used to have a very black cat, which was almost blue black on colour. They called it (not sure if it was a boy cat or a girl cat) Saphire. I think it was a nice choice.
My family, over a number of years have taken in cats. My sister ALWAYS got to name them. They included; Tiggy, Smudge, PJ, Moppet and Gabriel.
The last one we rescued from a neighbour who was moving. As it was Christmas my mum thought we should give it an 'appropriate' name. Youngest sister started to call it Jesus
My mum couldn't bring herself to shout that at the backdoor, so she came up with Gabriel!!! lol
Now I have my own house I would love a cat again, but I am a top floor flat and havn't got a garden/outside access. I think it might be cruel and that I would permanently feel guilty. What do others think?r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
love the name gabriel! Dagnammit - now I'm going to have to get two cats!
(Archimedes and Gabriel)
playing this game with kids names could get fairly hazardous!!I've made my debts bite-size too depressing to look at all at once so am handling them one at a time - first up Graduate Loan £1720 paid off! only £280 to go!!!

Our cats are outdoor cats but Chester my lovely tom cat would love to be a house cat. He hates going outside and will try and stay in even when the weather is good. Our other cat Estelle is completely different and would stay out all the time if she could (they both have to come in at night, I don't like them being out in the dark!).
We will wait and see what the new kittens are like.
I think a cat it depends on the cat, but would it not be better to get two so they can keep each other company when you are out?0 -
