Of course, you could always call the cat 'GUESS'!

So, when someone asks you the cat's name you say 'guess'!

I have called all my cats after constellations. Cats need Sunday names that you can convert into something ridiculous. I am on my last cat ( no more ) she is called Cassiopia for Sundays. Cassie for short useful at the vets. Cassiehoppie, she limps, Cassiewhoppie, she's fat! etc. If I was ever having another cat I would call him Draco! It sounds big and tough and I am sure it has potential.

Definitely sounds like you have a new lodger and that your other cats aren't too annoyed by his visits. If he has been "done" then he's either been abandoned by someone or he's got lost...or someone took him for a drive and let him out miles away. But whatever his history I'm glad he's found a home. He sounds like my Henry who moved in some years ago - he turned out to be the most gorgeous affectionate kitty imaginable and I am so glad I let him stay.

Spliff! That's v.hippy indeed. T-Rex. Cisco, after San Francisco where they had flowers in their hair. Marc or Bolan...obviously after Marc Bolan.
Finn...after the irish giant Finn MacCoul who created the Giant's Causeway and the Isle of Man. Well that's what they taught us at school in Ireland! It's also a play on "Thin"...depending on where your accent is from Finn and Thin sound just about the same anyway.

I like Peter for a cat, though I bet you don't. It's not terribly hippy, sorry. I also like Dylan, after the poet Dylan Thomas - a brilliant poet but also a bit of a scoundrel in the ladies & beverages depts. Or it could be after Dylan in the Magic Roundabout if you prefer. Which reminds me...Zebedee.

    Orinoko, after the womble.

Goblin, Pixie, Wizard. Cefer (as in C for Cat...), TeaLeaf.

I hope you have many happy years together with Kitty X.

    SnowyOwl.

Now Angus is a nice cat name. He has deffenatly called her Agnus, bless her she is so cute and little, she needs a soft name I think.

Our other cats are called Chester and Estelle

We had a kitten very briefly (poor thing was very poorly and we took him back to the lady we got him from and he died soon after) and we called him Chester. I think he was called after the lead singer of Linkin Park , yet another of my husband's favourite groups , but I think it's a good name for a cat

From that list of hippy names on the link I posted earlier , I like Ziggy
Same old same old since 2008

Cats are only small animals and probably do not have the intelligence to recognise their own name if it is more than two syllables!

What really gets me are those dogs at Crufts with those stupidly long, multi-syllabled, multi-barrelled names! But, then again, I think people should have pets for companionship not for one-upmanship, championship or showmanship!

My step-sister kept and bred dogs and competed at Crufts. At home, her dogs were treated as second-class citizens!

Husband has agreed to call the kittens Lottie and Betty. She really didn't look like an Agnes!

My other cats have not taken to them at all, Chester keeps hissing at them and running away and Estelle wouldn't come in the house last night, any suggestions?
