Brabantia all the way, customer service is excellent too if you have a problem.
I had mine from TK Maxx.0 -
Hi,I swear by the old fashioned type. I have always bought them from Wilkinson for about 45 pence and they last years.

Only available online.
old fashioned, gosh, that's a modern posh one, this is old fashioned,
though, if stuck for space in kitchen drawer, this will do the job.0 -
We must have tried pretty much everything on the market for years until in desperation I googled for a decent tin opener and found this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kuhn-Rikon-Safety-Lifter-Black/dp/B000I7GST2/ref=sr_1_40?ie=UTF8&qid=1443723272&sr=8-40&keywords=tin+opener
It's a bit expensive but worth every penny and more. Had it about 3 years and it's totally brilliant. The reviews say it all.
They're a fair bit cheaper at TK Maxx, about £6 or £7 I think.Stompa0 -

Sounds so cumbersome as to be probably impossible.
I think he was joking.0 -
Generally I find any of the ones that take the whole top off (i.e. cut into the side of the can, as opposed to cutting into the top), work well.
Probably best to ignore the ones with loads of unnecessary plastic that is just there for style and does nothing to enhance the operability.0 -
Hi,
I take bottom off cans as well, then squash them flat, saves space in bin.0 -
We've found it doesn't matter how much you spend they break, so now we buy tesco value ones and replace as soon as they start falling apart.0

I even got an electric one because I thought "maybe I'm just too weak?" but no that didn't work very well so after 18 months ended up in the bin!!
Doesn't matter where I buy these so called tin openers or how much I pay they DON'T WORK!!
Does anyone else have this problem?!
I struggle with normal tin openers, so got an electric one from Morrisons 2 years ago for about £8.50. It has been OK and still works (so far...)
FWIW though NOTHING lasts like it used to! :mad:cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

This is the best one I've had. I've had the can opener for 6 years now and it's still going strong. It cost about a tenner, but it's totally worth it. I like a fair bit in the Oxo good grips range actually, including the peeler.

The cheapy 49p metal tin openers are useless, always bend and stop working. Best to invest in a good one.0
