Is there such thing as a tin opener?!

I've had my Kenwood Electric one for around 9 years and it's still working perfectly.
It's this one:

I have the same, never had a problem with it and easy to use.
never really got on with manual ones.
but the kenwood works everytime without issue0 -
I too have major difficulty with tin openers. I purchased an OXO good grips one and this one is very easy to use. First one ever that I can use.0

I have an ancient WL Housewares plastic one, which works fine for anyone else, but I have back problems that make turning required painful.
My son once bought an Ebay palette of Argos returns and gave me an Argos brand electric one. This works fine, unless the plastic holding the magnet drops off (always when you are in a hurry) or the an isn't angled properly and the tin skids off at a difficult angle (always when there are liquid contents to scatter).
With ring pulls, I find that usually one in a 24 tray of dog food snaps off.
The worst thing ever: those keys on tins of corned beef, so thank goodness I no longer use it.0 -
I have a basic one too, and have had it at least 6 years. I also opt for the horizontal 'take the entire top off' method and haven't had any issues ever.
Now, if anyone can help me figure out how to consistently open cans of spam/corned beef correctly that would be me sorted. I've just given up on them. If I manage to get to the meat I'm normally bleeding by the end of it.0 -
I cannot use the key style tin openers.
Had two Magicans. Both I had to bin as to release a lid, both arms need to be prised apart. The arms got stuck and wouldn't budge. So Magican with a lid binned.
Got an electric one and sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to align the blade with edge of tin. Worked with cans of Spam. Open both ends and push onto a plate. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The old fashioned butterfly type openers work just fine, only about a quid.
Recently got a new one after my last one lasted for some 25 yrs or so.0 -

Sounds so cumbersome as to be probably impossible.
No it's not, I tried it. The only thing is I'm missing one of my hands.“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

I have one of these:

it's easily the best tin opener I've ever had, in that it actually works effortlessly, and is the only tin opener i've owned that has.0 -

I buy sliced corned beef, as you can choose a low fat variety, so no more keys to battle with.
Although Spam used to be popular(due to having no choice) it is horrid compared to other brands. Pek chopped pork is tastier, less fatty and has a conventional tin.0
