Corbyn used Ed Milliband's speech

He will be what the country needs, an actual real opposition.
Thats all he has to be, its five years of the tories and five years of tighten your belts and jam tomorrow until you get sick of it again.
Perhaps there is another way, 30+ years of thatcherism and her clones like Blair and Brown singing from her book of selfishness and what have you the working folk got from it ?
Fancy another 30 of the same blame the workers and feed the rich policies?
Perhaps Corbyn is right, we can unite together, bury our divisions and have a fair share of what we earn instead and a better country for all the people that live in it, not just the privileged few.
We have become scared of change, scared of what ? we might not be able to cope with a fair share of the pot we earn ?
Bests to stick giving it all to the billionaires, it's less hassle ...I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I don't know how much this goes on with other party leaders. In my view, any leader who cannot write their own speech for the annual party conference is unfit for the job. But this goes beyond that. He hasn't even commissioned a speech on his behalf. He's essentially used an old speech written for a different politician.
I doubt anyone gave a fig until this story came out ...and now suddenly it's something to sieze upon, who actually physically sits down and writes speeches is high up the list of importance.
Tomorrow is another day, and something new of little relevance will be seized upon.0 -
indeed it's a trivial matter
much more important is the fact that the shadow cabinet has people who think that the IRA killings of women, children was justified and that the IRA thugs are heroes
of course that they also think that the answer to everything is more tax, more spending and more borrowing is 'old' politics
just love the idea of opening the mines though : then we really could go back to the 1950s0 -

Oh dear
I genuinely do not understand how anyone could hold those contradictory and muddled views.
Your thinking is so confused I feel sorry for youLeft is never right but I always am.0 -

That would be nice but not much sign of Labour focusing on being an effective opposition just yet.
All of 2015 has been taken up with campaigning for the GE or a leadership battle and the party has been divided. The Tories are making hay while the sun shines.0 -

While McDonnell's comments were stupid, I actually find the fuss over these quite trivial in comparison to Blair's war crimes and Thatcher's support of brutal dictatorships. I guess the lesson here is the killing of innocent people is fine once you're PM."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -

Haters gonna hate though, so theres no real point in typing any of this.
Since I'm one of the relatively few people on this forum who's never taken the opportunity to unload abuse in your direction, I'd appreciate it if you didn't aim lazy terms of relative abuse in mine.
And fwiw if you're going to label everyone who has an issue with Corbyn as a "hater" you're going to spend a lot of the next 5 years having arguments on forums. I think you'll find there are plenty of reasonable people who have issues with Corbyn.0 -
The idea of opening some mines ?
We are dependant on Russian Gas and French Electricity and when they shut down the two Yorkshire power stations that supply 40% of the grid we will be held to ransome by the french power firms.
The only idea the present lot have is to let the chinese build a nuclear powerstation and pay them 10x the going rate per MW.
The idea of self sufficiency in a rapidly unstable world does not sound that daft when you crunch the alternative in to the idea.
We have hundreds of years of coal stocks beneath our feet, more than enough to tide us over until better technological supplies are available.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

They live in one of the richest countries in the world and even the poorest have a standard of living half the world can only dream of.0 -
They live in one of the richest countries in the world and even the poorest have a standard of living half the world can only dream of.
And the reason it is such a wealthy country and others are not is down to our work ethic.
We graft and graft and graft, build and build and build.
The country did not appear out of the mud by itself.
That is why we are a rich country and some of the others where they are lazy and bone idle are not.
We have a mentality that if you want something you have to work to get it.
We just need to sort out those taking the proverbial on benefits and sort out a fair share and we might have it cracked.I do Contracts, all day every day.0
