Corbyn used Ed Milliband's speech

Left and liberal are not the same thing.
Agreed 100%. According to political compass, I'm a slightly right wing (though not as far right as Labour!) libertarian, and more so than Labour.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

I invite everyone to close their eyes and imagine how the left would react if one of Cameron's first speeches turned out to not only have been ghost written but rejected by Maggie in the 80s as too extreme?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. Ah give him a break. He was just some bozo a few weeks ago.
And all of Cameron's speeches are ghost written. Party leaders don't write their own stuff. I used to know someone who got a job as a speech writer, pretty good money by all accounts.0 -

Still is and probably always will be.
But why do the sock puppet talking head thing to an old speech rejected by many others? Really that much of a bozo?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Not arf! 😀
The country is slowly lurching left in its instincts, the boomers can't live forever. I'm looking forward to the probable journey from our post war desperation to remain a world player to a country that although minus its place on the UN Security Council will be a nicer place to live. Let nouveau riche Brazil, India and the rest become the worlds policemen, let's build a safe decent country that spends its money on its people rather than a defence budget rooted in our paranoia to be relevant. Corbyn is just the initial unacceptable face of the new politics, there will be other more palatable ones that come along soon enough.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Exactly. I couldn't care less if we lost Trident. It's a national embarrassment anyway. A multi million pound gift to allow America to get two UNSC votes. Also highlighting just how incapable the UK is of having any kind of military policy of its own.
Just so a load of boomer pleasing 'britain punches above its weight' headlines can be printed in the daily mail.
Can't go soon enough. What a silly waste of money.0 -
Why is it some people always assume that if older people are more conservative than younger ones then as time passes the political balance will move when all the evidence is that people become more conservative as they get older?
For conservative read fearful.
Anyone of a certain age is haunted by the IMF, unburied bodies, uncollected bins and all the rest.
I have feeling that fear will largely die off with the boomers and their now irrational fear of left of centre politics.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
Or read worked hard, spent less than earned and would rather not give away what they have amassed by doing so.I think....0
