    Happy Friday everybody!

Had meat free day number two yesterday (leftover fish pie, garlic bread and salad), and DH definitely likes it. We agreed to at least have a veggie and one fish day a week now.

Also had a tech-low day as I spend most of the evening in the kitchen.

Ran my garden plans past DH and he really likes the idea of a square foot garden and using what was planned as a flower bed as a second veg patch. So took my CS bargain RHS book of gardening with me to work to do some more research at lunch and find out what to do in the garden in October.

Not a SFD today as I managed to forget nappies yesterday and gave the last pack to nursery.

Also had a chat about the smoking last night. Be both realised it took us a long time to go from a fag in bed on a Sunday morning and at least 20 a day (or more when on a night out) 5 years ago, to two wee rollies once the day is done. We both can't imagine to go back to the old ways which is telling us we broke some habits for good and we'll work together now on the last ones. Again gradually to break the habits for good.

Wow Bob your future payments are sounding promising. Soon be gone.

100 pounds off one card today usual DD. I would normally get excited but as I haven't added on my fridge freezer yet to my totals. Need to clear my 50 on bcard first then will revise my totals. Don't regret buying it as it has totally transformed my kitchen, looks so cute now.

I have sat still for 90mins and dreading getting up and moving about pain now. Glad the weekend is nearly here and have got Monday off - Birthday girl and hate working on my birthday. Getting treated to lunch by a friend. Family day out Sunday so hope I am fighting fit to enjoy.

CCL hope your other half starts improving soon, keep plodding along slowly you will get there in the end.

    Coffee and move about time.

Enjoy your weekends folks and enjoy life.

Hi everyone, sorry i've been awol for a while! The boiler is sorted so I now have heat and more debt to the sum of 3k, but what can you do? Well I paid it off with one card then switched the balance 0% till next october with another. Not ideal, but better than paying interest.

Mothernerd, well done for contacting SS-I really hope it all works out for you :) Good luck with everything :) I think whether we have debt or not, one thing we all probably find very easy to do is neglect our mental health with every day life being so stressful. Please take care of yourself :)

Dolly, good for you. You made the right decision. Two days is no time at all, to be consulted! Where do they all think we live -mansions on Beverly hills :rotfl:
My son goes on his trip next week, my ex just told me he won't be around to take him the airport at 5am as he is going on holiday! So even the cab fare I now how to find is going to throw the budget out, as I now will stick ferociously to my budget. What also annoyed me about my ex was that he has the children every sunday. This is the only day or opportunity I get to unwind. For him to have them any other day takes the planning on the scale of a UN convention! I have told him if he has holidays planned, to give me notice in case I have plans or just so I know. For the second time now, he has sprung it on me with days to spare. The best bit, he's planned two consecutive weekends away starting from this weekend and told me last night-I was fuming as I wanted to finish the flooring on Sunday  He then said, he can have the youngest on the days i'm not working from home though, over the half term. I'm ashamed to say I childishly said he can have him the whole week. He then said he can't as he has set times when he can have time off, to which I said you'll just have to juggle it the same way I do! I am embarrassed of my behaviour, as in truth I'd booked the halfterm off last month :o and have loads of freebie things planned for me and the little fella. What annoyed me, is he said he was sorry for the short notice but he only had the trip confirmed. He didn't, as he asked me two weeks ago when were the children on halfterm and I thought he was taking them away and when I put this to him, he didn't reply to my text ! It's just the lack of consideration that I find annoying-sorry rant and displays of acting like a spoilt child over.

Thrifty, I'm so glad your little one does not have to pay and I hope you all have a wonderful day :)

Bob-I'm glad you and the little one are doing well!

Take care everyone and have a great day :)

Thrifty - you have come a very long way with your smoking and I'm sure if you really want to give up for good you will do it.

Calling - hope that back of yours eases up soon, have you tried those heat pads that fasten on to you so you can keep moving whilst still getting the benefit? We had some free samples and they were really good.

Bob - the payments you will be making soon are huge, it will soon be gone now.

CCL - hugs to you. Those vet bills sound crippling, I bet your vet loves you though, I would negotiate on the prices with them if you are going so regularly, they are a business like any other.

Yesterday was a meat free day. Apart from checking in here I've had loads of tech free days too which I am pleased about.

I have cycled this morning so exercise is done. I will walk the dog later, clean the bathroom, vacuum upstairs and down, make curry for tea, dust the bedrooms plus I need to be at DS's Harvest Festival at 2pm.

They have asked for donations and in the past they have donated to a homeless shelter but that particular homeless shelter is now turning away donations as they have so much food they can hardly get in the building - interesting!!!

traveller - that sounds like a difficult situation you have with your ex, they are his children too so you would think he would want as much time with them as he can get. It is difficult to respond in an adult way, I know I wouldn't be able to.

LSK- Get well soon to your little one. My little one woke up with a cold this morning. Hopefully it's the change of weather and she'll shake it off soon as i'm sure that's what's wrong with my little one. Take care :)

Well counted down the hrs all day to go home and sprawl out on the floor, instead now have to go and watch harvest festival as daughter can't make it. Sure it will be lovely but just an hr sat in those tiny chairs will be disaster for my back. Whinge over x

Calling you are not whingeing :) As much as it pains me that the only family with regards to childcare I have, is my useless ex :rotfl: I have to remind myself that my mum has done her time as a parent and now is her time to rest. Any help you give your daughter is exactly that, so you are more than entitled to feel less than happy at being stuck in one of those chairs-I myself dread these events if truth be told :o;). I just hope you can get home and relax asap :)

  • Evening all. Calling, you're not whinging, you're in pain and sometimes the anticipation of more pain is scarier/more horrible then the pain itself. Traveller, sorry to hear your ex is being a pain, hope you can relax a bit this weekend and take your mind off it. Dolly, good to hear the food donations are racking up at your local place, I hope they're getting to people who need them most.
So after waiting all week for my free hot drink, turns out oh-two don't do that promotion any more! Gutted wasn't the word for it! So, I just didn't have one, rather than buying one and then feeling guilty about it. Cooking and cleaning this weekend, OH bought a YS pork joint a few weeks ago so we whacked it in the freezer, going to slow cook it and do pulled pork pizza (dough is already churning away in bread maker), should do for at least three meals, it's a fairly big piece! Looking forward to reading and assimilating all the info from my course this week, not looking forward to trying to apply it at work next week!
Hope everyone has a good weekend :)
Bought my first house in 2014 - now, to be mortgage free! :D
