Morning everyone. Thanks for the well wishes
I took a one of my daughters hayfever tablets yesterday and the itching has stopped,so i'm very happy. And in a weird way i'm not too fussed about the boiler-yet :)Hear me out
I'm the type of person who is always cold and never really has the heating off. I've also been getting very annoyed with my eldest who works from home. I hardly charge him anything as I want him to get his business off the ground without loans ect, but he has no real appreciation and there have been times when I've come home and even for me, the house is boiling, this is made worse as he'll switch it off just before in. So the radiators are luke warm but the house is baking meaning it was on all day  I was dreading waking up this morning to a cold house, but it was not noticeably cold and the hot water is the main headache. I did expect to be in meltdown, but I'll just keep pottering along until I get it sorted. Does anyone know what a new boiler fitting entails and how long it all takes. I just hope it's not days on end and digging up of floor board  Added to this, I have no annual leave until 1st November left
LSK i'm glad your daughters party went well. Bob I hope you and the little one are doing well. Calling well done on doing loads of DIY yourself, i'm not the best at that sort of thing at allWell have a good day everyone and take care

traveller - when we had our new boiler it was a 2 day job but that was because we originally had a fire back boiler and we were changing to a modern boiler in a totally different position so they had to remove the old one and the gas fire and put piping and electric in for the new one. If you are just swapping the old one and not moving it it should be quite stress free.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Hi everyone!
It has definitely turned much colder here today and our heating is on! However, I've had a battle in work to get the heating turned on there. My office is open to the public and next to an automatic door, so it gets chilly every time the door opens. However, the people in the offices upstairs have decided it's not cold enough for the heating and we can't just have it on downstairs as the heat 'will spread'! Nonetheless I won the battle and it's being turned on tomorrow!
Spent on lunch today as it was so cold - 95p on soup to warm me up!
Another business order collected and paid for today. Getting my shop keys tomorrow.0 -
A NSD today as expected, hopefully I'll rack them up this week as only really need to do a top up shop towards end of the week. Away with work at the mo so had a lovely dinner that I didn't have to pay for nom nom.
Night everyone!0 -
Hi All
Traveller -thanks for the mention. Yes we are both fine thank you. It is funny getting used to the routine of having a baby again. She's very different to my son so far. We've nicknamed her Miss Mouse because she is so mild and you don't know you've got her, until she's hungryshe is already doing stints in the moses basket. DS wouldn't let me put him down for the first 4 months and we had a devil of a job creating an evening routine . So she is a novelty so far!
On boilers. We had one year when the boiler at the flat we rent out went and we had just installed a new one at our house! I recommend the brand Worcester Bosch they are known to be very reliable. We haven't had a days worry with ours. Cost around £2k. Wasn't a big job in our case either.
Calling - well done with the PAD today!
Skintlittledragon- I agree it's money well spent on creating memories..
Dolly -sounds a great arrangement on the hand me downs.
Apple - I did reply to your DM btw did you get that?
MissTara - well done on being 59% paid off!
CCL - GO you on the NSD count
Dizzy - Glad there is such a thing as a free lunch
Thrifty - it is such a tricky one knowing when to put the heating on isn't it. I think you've made the right choice though.
I hope I haven't missed anyone news? It has now slipped into tommorow as I got up to change a nappy in between
We are doing alright. Not pushing on much this month but treading water ready for better days, still with a full emergency fund despite needing to contribute to gutter repairs at our flat, & a few other things like that.
Still very much using up every resource rather than wasting things. And can't really believe we are half way through the month this week.
Anyway rambling off to bed now!
