I know money saving is the name of the game for us all here, and kudos to us all for that,
BUT....
I'm sure we've all witnessed extreme episodes of MSEing, maybe to such an extent as to make us cringe. So come on all, spill it.
I'll start.
A few years ago me and my then other half were invited to a bbq party. He bought a four pack of those fancy fruit juices to take along with a small bottle of vodka.
Before we set off, he carefully took all of the bottles tops off the juices, decanted half the contents into a bottle to leave at home, then topped them and the vodka up with water.
Off to the party we went, where he then generously announced to everyone that they could help themselves to his vodka....!

Alcohol dilution - Travesty
I used to know someone who left teabags on the side and then re-ued them later on. Kept re-use until they worked no longer0 -

My mum re-uses tea bags but only once!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
I occasionally reuse teabags too (only once!) - usually if i'm running low or if the kids want a cup (not very often) as they only have it weak and have a small cup.0

I've taken other people's things out of wheeliebins.
Had a computer (and monitor), vacuum cleaner, phone, large teddy bear (that went to charity shop).
At a "bring your own drink" party I once took my own teabag.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
I once witnessed a woman in morrisons ask the lady on the meat counter to weight every slice of the ham she wanted so she could choose the lightest and therefore cheapest slices.0

It's all relative isn't it. What seems stingy to one person is ok to another.
I own and run a cafe. I've had people come in before and as part of their meal ask for a cup of boiling water. When it came to clear them I've found fruit teas they've made themselves with the water. Is that ok? Not to me. But maybe that's seen as a perk to be had.
The infamous 'I'd like a black coffee' oh but can I have a dash of milk is also good....depends how nice I'm feeling" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

I work in retail. I scanned an item through the checkout a few weeks ago and it came up as £20. The customer buying it said, "Oh, the label on the shelf says it's only £19.98."
I asked a colleague for a price check on it, but my manager overheard and said to sell the item for £19.98 because "I'm not going to quibble over 2p."I was cut out to be rich, but got sewn up wrong.0 -

Is black coffee cheaper then? I have never noticed that it is - I am a black coffee person, but definitely not a dash of milk (yuk!)0 -
Muhren- you'd be surprised who dares what
Dawn- in many places yes. I think half the trouble is places like bucks have one price and leave milk out for people to use or not. For me that would cause wastage so my black coffee is cheaper by 20p. I suppose a lot of people who only want a teeny bit feel why should they pay?" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
