Morning all,
Back to normal - dh took yesterday off as well (wonders will never cease as the word workaholic was made for him). Good week in Donegal last week - weather was ok - a few showers- and it was great to have the time with my sister, BIL and nephew and niece as they live in London, so we don't see them very often. However my dad seemed to be auditioning for Grumpy Old Men all week - still, what's new!!!
Have to go and buy school shoes and rugby boots for ds1 today - he tried on his full uniform yesterday - I can't believe it's him in blazer and tie etc. I know everyone is like this when they start secondary school - but it's mine this time:D He startts next Tues with induction days on Tues, Weds and Fri - ds2 isn't back till 3/9.
Pasta with bacon and tomato sauce tonight - needs to be quick as we're playing a few holes of golf at 6.15 and won't get dinner till after that. Lunch will probably be beans on toast.
Anyway must go and start a major tidy up - and do a few name tapes as well.
Happy anniversary to the Scuba leopards and Happy birthday to Catznine.
Welcome to Raphael.
Hugs to JackieO, anyone with insomnia and anyone else who needs one.
Have a good day“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

Is anyone else still waiting for their Tesco points? We usually have them quite early in the run. I am hoping to use them towards next year's holiday!
Got mine yesterday :T :j Yours might be in today's post
Postman just bought me March of the Penguins DVD (from eBay) and a cheque for £225    This was the excess that we had to pay when someone ran into DH's stationary car   DH was delighted as she said that she's sort it all out. I pointed out to him that as there was no damage to her car, all she had to do was ring her insurance company. It's been me making payments, chasing garages, filling in forms, etc

Morning all!
Happy Birthday Catznine. Welcome Raphael!
<<JackieO>> and <<PenPin>> and <<anyone else who would like one>>.
I'm a member of the poor sleep gang at the moment. For the last couple of weeks I have been waking up every time I turn over (have a problem with one of the joints in my back). I bought some coolmax sheets (could only find them in M&S) and put one on the bed on Saturday, and that really seemed to help. Then, last night, I couldn't sleep as one of our cats didn't come in at 10pm for supper. She's always in 15 mins before, chirruping and biffing to let us know its nearly supper time.
She turned up at 11.30pm, by which time I was engrossed in R4's "Down the Line". I was sparko at midnight, only to be woken by Washburn bringing in a mouse and he and Izzy fighting over it under the bed.
Anyway. It's only sleep, I can try and doze later, or will hopefully sleep better tonight.
Just finished brekkie, I've been having porridge (made with water of course) for the last few days, and I've found it to be really satisfying.
WM on, only one load today as I did 4 loads yesterday. No other housework, apart from a quick tidy through. We're having mutton shepherds pie for dinner tonight, I need to pop to the farm shop for some veggies.
As soon as my porridge has settled I'm off to the gym. I went on Saturday for the first time in weeks, and it was really hard work. I need to get back into the habit of going three times a week, and it should be easy this week as DH is off doing the build up week for a major folk festival (not my cup of tea). I will tell him eventually.
Have a great day everyone xxxx0 -
Pen Pen,
post has just come - 2 flyers and an unwrapped (= no poly bag) Landsend catalogue. Maybe tomorrow!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
The guy has picked up the keys to our new house so he can start to fit the carpets. Should all be fitted by the end of tomorrow. On Friday we'll be moving in proper and then our new life begins.
No TV, no internet, no phone. Just me the OH (when he's not working) and the baby. Sounds very scary. My mum doesn't live too far away, so if things get really bad (ie, MSE withdrawl symptoms) I can always pop round for a quick surf.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.
Love to my two angels that I will never forget.0 -
I didn't sleep well, either, must be catching.
I haven't had my tesco points, but i'm not sure if its because they are late or because we moved.0 -
Well back again............I went back to bed at 4.30am and eventually went back to sleep, have just got up and its b****y freezing.............we have been sleeping under a sheet and a patchwork quilt, I have just got the 4.5 tog quilt out to put on the bed, autumn is certainly on its way.
Congrats to scubaleopard, happy birthday to anyone whose day it is today....welcome to any new posters, you will find us a lively, helpful bunch on here.............we have a laugh and sometimes a !!!!!!!!!!
My Tesco card points came yesterday £47 worth £188 in deals, so thats the tunnel for our holiday next year paid for, although the prices are not out yet.
I have to wait in for a parcel to come, I should have had it last week, I phoned the company and the parcel carriers had been trying to deliver it to the wrong address............
I was going to make backberry and apple jam but I just do not have the umph so we are open freezing the blackberries to go into bags, they will take up less room in the freezer............will make a crumble with some of them for supper. Trying to last out to next Tuesday with the shopping not sure if I am going to make it though............I have to make a loaf........and we need some fruit............may have to nip to the market and get some bananas and apples.
I am going to have an OH free day on Monday, its the mixed pairs so they play bowls all day with a lunch break..............not sure what I am going to do with myself but I sure as heck will find something.................
JackieO have you warned the oncology department re your impending arrival, I feel they may need to do a risk assessment, re dry knickers etc.......................on the days you attend..................you are going to have 'the treatment' but I know your indomintable (spelling) spirit will get you through and out the other side. Remember though you do have permission to be grouchy, sad, tearful moany.........as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL. By the way watch out for the DGC and the chicken fillet.........my MIL had one and my eldest son used to play football with it..........(it had a disturbing habit of falling out at the most embarrassing moments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Coffee calls.......................September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.
Tesco £57.13
Petrol £10.000
