csarinaknight & Scubaleopard - Hope that you both managed to get more sleep! And Happy Anniversary Scubaleopard!
    X_raphael_xx! - Welcome!

Nothing very exciting happening here today, DD and I will need to pop to the shop later but thats about it. I'm hoping that she'll get a sleep in again today, she really seems to need it again and so do I!

Will ring the hospital soon to make sure that my Dad had a good night, i'm sure that he will have done, I feel very positive after talking to his nurse yesterday, apparently he was drinking coffee at about 3pm, was suprised that they gave him some after a heart op! I'm just sorry that he's so far away and I can't go and visit him, my sister is going in today though.

General cleaning today, there is quite alot to be done but I find bending forwards so hard, I can't wait for this big bump to be gone (and sleeping peacefully 22 hours a day?!! :D ) At the moment I do a kick everything in to one area shuffle and then pick it up in one go, must train my dd better! I also have a ton of ironing to do, must try and do at least some of that too.

    Breakfast - cereal
    Lunch - sandwich
Dinner - Either quorn thai curry or vege mince spag bol

    Have a wonderful day all

    Good Morning All

    Happy Anniversary Scubaleopald.

Had a lovely weekend away weather was ok most of the time although did pour down yesterday when we were at Pleasurewood Hills - meant there was no q's and you got wetter watching the log flume than riding it. We only managed to stay there till 1pm but went on all the rides we wanted and paid with Mr T's tokens so that was all right.

Chilled yesterday when we got home and had an Indian takeaway - now back to normal, OH is clearing the massive washing piles and I will be in my office all day. I have an obscene amount of paperwork. Kids I think will be more than happy having a pj day at home. Need to get all the paperwork done as we have a big party on saturday that I need to sort the food out for. Need to look at the weather forcast so can decide if its barbeque, cold or hot buffet - feels like October here today.

Hope you are all ok and I didnt miss any monumental news.

PP - dont have any experience of polish workers but my cousins girlfriend is polish and is lovely - she seems a hard worker.

Need to get on now - have a great day.

    Happy anniversary Mrs Sucbaleopard.
Hope all the little ones going back to school have a good day.
Looks quite dull and wintery here!! But have lots to do to keep me busy, ironing pile is huge and want to finish sorting the school uniforms out, i had thought ds1 trousers would cost me about £10 each but managed to get 2 pairs for £10 yesterday so happy with that.

Had a message from Crazychick, she has arrived in Turkey and is having a great time but her mobile isnt working so i need to send her mobile provides number later ( she needs it working incase her ex rings about the kids as he has no idea she is away)

Right off for more coffee and to make a start, i will get lots done today!!

  • Penny-pincher, I have worked with Polish girls, they were very nice and tend to be hard-working as they want to be able to send money home; often they are students and need to pay tuition as well - they come her to learn english as they can make good money teaching it. Also they will be probably be Catholic and would appreciate time off for church on a sunday.

Ask them to make you some of their food - polish food is very good - pyrogis esp. (I'm part polish!)

    Morning all
We had a hectic start here this morning, our visitors, who were due at 2 am didn't arrive until 4:30, so I didn't sleep well as was worried about them, DSS is 21 & thinks he's Stirling Moss or Lewis Hamilton for those of us too young to remember Stirling Moss. I then overslept didn't wake until 5:50 & still managed to get hubby to the station by 6:20, so he caught the 6:30 train. If it doesn't stop raining he'll be home just after lunch. He twisted his knee yesterday, so I'm not sure how long that will hold out for.
I've just had £47 paid into my bank from Amazon for the books I've sold, so I'm very pleased about that.
I aquired some fab vintage fabric yesterday & my head is buzzing with plans for things to do with it, one piece is 3 mts green & white needlecord, so I think that will be made into bags, I just have to decide what to line them with. Another piece is 4 mtrs sort of soft dark pink tweed, which I'll probably make a couple of skirts with, there is 5 mtrs of navy cotton with a small white spot & then 5 pieces of brushed cotton about 15 mtrs in total various size floral designs, I have no idea what to do with these, all suggestions welcomed.
Yesterday when I went out to feed Thumper & Ogden, as I picked up the bowl, Thumper attacked me, I think he thought I was one of the local magpies trying to steal from his bowl, as soon as he realised it was me he started rubbing his head on my hand by way of apology.
Today I will strip our bed & wash the bedding, don't know when I'll get it dry, I'll probably throw it over the banisters overnight & hope.
I've had my cereal for breakfast & will do cooked breakfast for the visitors when they surface, we're having lamb shanks & new pots tonight but won't be having any veg with it unless I brave the rain & go and get some as we have run out, I'll probably get cabbage & carrots.
Congrats to the Scubas & welcome Raphael
    Hugs

P S. I have friends getting married on the beach tomorrow in Mexico, I hope the hurricane dosen't affect them too badly.
I said I thought they were going during the hurricane season, but they were sure the Travel Agent would have mentioned it if it was! It's their 4th & 5th wedding respectively & they are both only wearing sarongs, if it's too windy I can see the sand getting places it shouldn't.

    Good Morning ladies,
had a very good night's sleep last night, lot less to worry about at the moment makes all the difference I think.
I went to thr follow up appointment at the hospital and was told that the op. went well and they were pleased with the result .Thats the good bit, now comes the not so good bit. The cancer was in my lymph nodes so that means that I will get a letter to go to see the oncologist after my holiday next week and it seems certain that I will have Chemo followed by R/therapy and a five year course of Tamoxifen to top me off. It seems that this is more of a prevention to stop the cancer returning which is good.:j So my DD is very pleased that they have got it all out and says that 'O.K. you will have chemo and r/t but at least you know that you are 99% cured'.My follow up appointment at the breast care clinic in Medway is 6th August 2008, a year away:j so I suppose they are pretty sure that I will still be around in a years time which is brilliant.I had to had some fluid drained off whilst I was there ,but apparently that is quite normal and it didn't hurt at all.

When we came out of the hospital we were feeling really chuffed as although I will have to have some treatment it could have been so much worse and although at the moment I list a bit to the portside that will soon be rectified with my posh new prosthesis which hopefully I should get within the next two months.
I am still a bit stiff and sore and I think pole-dancing is out for awhile but life is good and each day gets even better. :D
We told the grandchildren on Sunday afternoon that we were going on this surprise weeks holiday and they were very excited and hyper. The little ones wanted to pack their teddies straight away and although Ben aged 11 was trying to act 'cool' he was really quite amazed that we had kept it a secret for so long. His Dad said to him
'You have learned a valuable lesson today Ben ,never believe all a woman tells you as they always have something more up their sleeve' .He didn't know until a month ago either.
When we arrived home my DD's husband rang from Milton Keynes to say he had passed his exam so it was a double celebration. He has been studying hard for this exam ,its to do with his job as a surveyor, somthing to do with domestic energy that all his collegues at work have to do to keep their jobs. There were 70 that sat it and only 5 passed.I was very pleased for him as he is more a hands-on sort of chap and hates exams and has really put a lot of time and effort into getting this certificate.
Don't have to wear those horrible white anti-thombosis stockings anymore as well so life just can't get any better. :j
The weather here in North Kent is looking decidedly damp so I think it will be a pottering day today. No shopping to get as I only have until Saturday before I go away.I think I will try to watch catch-up t.v. this morning as I missed The Chase on Sunday.
Hope everyone has a whizzy wonderful day and <<Hugs>> to those in need and a big :D:D:D:D to the rest of you.
    Cheers JackieO.

    Hi JackieO

Congratulations on your news, :T I'm sure you will take your treatment in your stride as you have coped so well with everything else :A

Do you get a choice of size in your prosthesis, don't go for a Jordan size, or you may look lopsided :D

Enjoy your holiday, you certainly deserve it xx
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D
