Everyone's up early! Hope those that didn't get much sleep managed to catch up.

Congrats Scubaleopard! 31 yrs - wowo! Welcome raphael.

JackieO can you please pass your optimism around! It's wonderful how positive you are, and I'm sure you'll be around for a lot longer than a year!

Well yesterday went in a blur of nothingness. My 24 hr flu came back and wimped me out, which is pathetic considering what others are having to deal with! It was so cold I went and hid under the bedclothes reading - which was wonderful luxury! But I'll pay for it today playing catch-up.

Didn't put too much food out for the cats overnight as they're all going through a bout of licking off gravy and leaving meat. Paid for that this morning too - empty bowls, and one poor dead bird on the lawn. Sigh. I can't seem to win. Must try reconfigure their collars to ensure bells are well apart from new magnets. Mind you it was a blackbird and they do seem to be the dappiest of birds. We have one thats sits on the lawn 4ft from where the feral cat is eating her dinner, waiting for her to finish so it can grab any of the meal. The feral cat "chatters" at the bird, and it's stupid enough to stay there.

Finlay driving me nuts today. He's been awake for longer than me, and is ready to play. So he was attacking phone-cords, scratching furniture, attacking 20 yr old cat, all before I had caffeine. Not sure how the house'll cope with him if we go away.

Well better get on - housetidying again since weather is grey and wintry. 19C in the hottest place in the house :( Have a good one peeps!

    Hello all:D

Well Ive gone and done it!!! - I went and signed up for a gym membership yesterday:eek::rotfl: got my gym induction on sat morn and then im off to work that body back to beautiful .....well back into a decent shape then :rotfl:
I also booked the kids onto their swimming lessons, starting sept. So the aim is to go to the gym/swim during the day/morn when they are both at school.

I'm hoping that doing some exercise will also help get my mood back on track! although why am I worrying about paying for it?? I keep thinking I should just get out my exercise dvds and save money:o but I think getting out of the house and doing something will make me feel better - can only give it a try cant I?

sent off my slips from the flora marg for another £5 george voucher.

  • Jackie0-I love reading your posts. You are a true inspiration and keep me feeling positive knowing that I will eventually (hopefully) feel better. I always try to think that theres always someone worse off than yourself, but on bad days, this thought often gets forgotten. I am so happy for you. The drugs I take are chemo drugs and know how much they can wipe you out. You are truly amazing!

    Hugs

Morning all and congrats to those with birthdays and aniversaries

2 day week for me at w*rk starting today as I'm off to Reading festival on thursday - funny how those short weeks seem to drag on for longer isn't it. I spent the day yesterday washing camping stuff from climate camp (sans washing machine I'll have you know) so that it can all get muddy again for this weekend.
Exoh is coming round tonight to sort a few things out. He has a newish girlfriend and is neglecting his dd a bit IMO (and hers). He had called her three times over the weekend to say he was coming over to see her and didn't. He is also lending me some money for the weekend so I'll let her do the talking :)

well there goes the alarm to tell me it's time to leave so have a great day everyone
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

:j HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATZNINE:T - hope you have a lovely day (and have been having a lovely time with your friends!) xxxxxxxxxxx
  • Good morning everyone!

Happy Anniversary to the Scuba Leopards (great name, btw)

    Welcome to Raphael :T

    Happy Birthday Catznine

Pen Pin - I come into contact with a lot of Polish people through w***. They tend to be very direct in their way of saying things, which sounds quite direct and rude, but if you bear in mind that they mean nothing by it, and it's a cultural difference, they're great.

Alibob - glad your dad's doing well :A

Moggins - good to see you back. The new man sounds like a real find :T

Woke at 3am, and lay tossing and turning for ages, but eventually got another couple of hours. Small Penguins have asked to take their go-cart out again, so we'll do that this afternoon. We're going out for 10miles on our bikes once they're up (they stayed up till 11 last nigh watching a film  so I insisted on a lie-in this morning). Gives me some peace to continue sewing - been doing that since 7am.

Made drop scones for breakfast yesterday - the Small Penguins finished them off with maple syrup and lemon. They're probably ask for them again.

Have a great day, Penny. x

    Bore da i pawb!
Later today, but second WM load is on, and first is on the line. DW is chugging away too.

MUST start my 'back to school work' today otherwise I can't get it copied in time for the start of term. At times like this I wish I had my own space!

Found my old Post Office book with £9.49p in credit, so have sent it off for re-payment. Don't know what the interest position is as that sort of account ended in 2004!

    Scubaleopard: Happy anniversary!
PenPin: I have had Polish pupils, they were all very hard working and eager to do well. I think they recognise opportunity.
JackieO: so glad to hear your good news!
    Catznine: happy birthday!
Is anyone else still waiting for their Tesco points? We usually have them quite early in the run. I am hoping to use them towards next year's holiday!

    Happy Birthday Catznine
    Welcome Raphael
JackieO congratulations on the good news re the op, sorry you have to go through chemo etc but your strength of character will get you through as will your very supportive family.

I'm still feeling a bit down in the dumps today, have to go to chemist and collect my prescription today as im only getting a weeks supply at the moment.
Then off to visit my best friend for lunch so im looking forward to that a good nattering session and a delicious lunch.
DW been emptied, beds made, WM on TD on as its dull and dreary here. Bathroom, kitchen and livingroom all had a S&S.
Managed about half an hours cross stitch this morning before the concentration went so thats an improvement as i havent managed any for about 10 days now.
    anyways will report back later
    have a brilliant day everyone
