This is the first year I'm using that method, so I don't know what the difference will be. I suspect it won't be as good, otherwise they wouldn't have changed it.
Yes, i just claim mileage, claim back anything i can that is business related, claim for an office in the house here, etc.
Will bung it all to the account at year end0 -
So we can compare notes on this next year. I've about 30000 business miles on a diesel Mondeo this year so far. It's definitely taking its toll on the car - I'd say it won't make 200,000 without slipping beyond economic redemption, so what HMRC allow me will be interesting.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0

Yes. I do v low miles but claim @ 45p per mile on my own car. Only really home "office" to the airport and back if i'm working on the mainland.
Isnt there a certain amount @ 45p per mile, then it drops to a lower rate?0 -
There is, but I hear that's changed as well. I don't know what the new level is.
I'm not expecting too much for a Mondeo with 180,000 on it. Could end up "sold as seen" at auction.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -

same country and all that0 -
Was reading in a paper this morning (tabloid one) that average Skoda prices down 11% and Audi down 7% since the "scandal".
Not sure where the figures come from or if these are seasonally adjusted. Could be temporary or a sign of things top come but safe to say in the short-term there will be an effect on the VW brand.0 -
A family member of mine is a VW devotee, he's had five Golfs in a row. He's due a replacement soon and says that he'll be steering clear of VW.

VW along with Audi and another Merc diesel will be at the top of the list my next change. Drove cars long before this emissions baloney and they did the same job and with less expense as well.
If you want to talk about `emissions` take a trip to Russia, China or India.0
