Missing lodger

I watched it as well. Our lodger definitely isn't hoarding loads of dodgy money in his room though. Oh and I definitely haven't buried anyone anywhere, I promise!
So I got home and thought I'd just quickly check his room, and see if his passport was there and I found a envelope from his mom, which has her name address and phone number on the back on one of those stickers. I've called but there was no answer. But I'll try later and hold off on calling 101 until then. Wish I'd been a lot nosier before!0 -

That sounds more promising! Hope you can get some answers later.0 -

I would, if you cant get hold of her tonight, i'd pop a note through his mums door asking her to contact you urgently - and then I would contact the police. This really needs dealing with asap and not leaving another few daysWith love, POSR0 -
When I was a kid we had a lodger - it was waaay before the days of mobile phones and internet!
He disappeared - completely out of character - and eventually, although I'm unsure how, my parents found out he'd been hospitalised after an accident (this was days later). We went to see him (because he was virtually part of the family!) and I remember him coming back 'home' with bandages. I think my mum had actually phoned around all the local hospitals.
Good luck finding your missing lodger, OP! Hope he's okay.Mortgage - £[STRIKE]68,000 may 2014[/STRIKE] 45,680.0 -
Person_one it's because, as several people here have said, they can't actually tell me anything as I'm not family. I'm not seeing what I can gain from calling them.
That's how dead bodies go undiscovered for months, people think it's someone elses's business to report strange happenings.
You're the person who sees him most regularly, you're the person who has noticed he is missing, that's why you call the police. I can't see what is so difficult to understand about that really.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

But as I explained earlier, we aren't the people who see him most regularly. He was away from our house more than he was in. He saw his Nan every single day, best mate multiple times a week, plus several other people a lot more than he saw us.
However I did say I'll call them, and I tried his mum last night and this morning and no answer. So when I get home from work tonight I'll give his mum one more try and then call 101.
Unfortunately we can't put something through his mum's door, as she lives 70 miles away from us.When I was a kid we had a lodger - it was waaay before the days of mobile phones and internet!

Thank you - I hope so too! Though the only thing that is out of character is his rent not being paid and him not answering his phone. When his Nan had the stroke we didn't see him for over a month but as we knew the situation we didn't worry.0 -
I wouldn't touch anything in the room - just in case something has happened to him and there is evidence in there somewhere. But then I watch far too many police procedurals on telly so am probably a bit paranoid..."A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0

I would attempt to make contact with his mother and other friends etc, if still no go and he has his things there, then I'd probably go to the police and report him as missing-X-Missima-X-0

I wonder how long it would be before someone reports me missing if i disappeared.¬"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
