Sparrer, what a lovely thing to happen, hope that its the start of a good relationship for you.
Mine for the last few days
1. Seeing a consultant who put a name to my medical problem at last, and finding out that medication will almost certainly control it :j
2. Getting a haircut today, makes me feel 10 years younger
3. A text message from my dd in Oz telling me about the camping trip they're enjoying - they were on a paddle steamer on the Murray river
4. Knowing that tomorrow I don't have to go out anywhere so I can spend some time catching up on jobs around the house

Sparrer, what lovely news!
My five delights of the day:
1. Waking up toasty warm after a really good night's sleep. I am about to try a hottie and cocoa again tonight since it seems to work in curing insomnia.
2. Getting on top of my housekeeping accounts so now I have a proper accounts book for this year, know exactly where my finances are at on a day to day basis and when money is due out. I've stuck a plastic envelope inside the cover to keep all receipts for checking each time a new bank statement arrives. I haven't been this organised for several years and it's a pleasure to have reached this place again.
3. Having a very long, hot bath this afternoon.
4. Listening to my children having a really good time together laughing and laughing.
5. Sitting quietly this evening knitting sock #2.
Have a warm and peaceful night everyone x0 -
Tuesday blessings...
1. Having so many lovely people to share my news with every day:A and thinking how wonderful the internet is
2. Much warmer today so I was able to go out without looking like a bandit (ie without a scarf over my mouth and nose  ). Called in on DD and heard about DGD's second driving lesson - she didn't drive quite so fast this time! DGD2 wants me to take her on a £9.50p holiday..ahhhh..so we're back to collecting tokens (already booked one for DM and myself) - hope there are some places left by the time we've got the 10 we need, otherwise it's camping
3. My appt with the dentist was much less expensive than I'd planned for. As I was going to the bank afterwards anyway what I saved on the dentist got put into my account
4. Mr A has two large diy pizzas for a fiver again, I love that offer! With a few home-made wedges and a salad it's so filling, there's lots more of the first one for tomorrow and the 2nd one is in the freezer for another day
5. The sec of a local support group phoned and asked me to speak at their meeting tomorrow - I'm giving myself an OS manicure and chewing my nails to the elbow :rotfl:0 -
Hi everyone
1. Listening to an item on the radio news saying that people would feel much happier if they started a "gratitude diary" and recording the little things that have given pleasure throughout the day. Isn't that just what we are doing here!
2. Looking at the bulging shelves in the walk in pantry - feel that I can now cope with any crisis. Well those involving food anyway.
3. Hearing that a friend has set up a prayer group for OH, lovely thing to do for my favourite atheist.
4. The apricots are just about finished - its been a great crop but after dried apricots, apricot sauce, bottled apricots, several batches of apricot jam, ditto apricot chutney, I am relieved to see the end of them.
5. Eyeing up the plum and apple trees and sorting out recipes to deal with the prolific harvest. Well it keeps me busy.
Blessings be

4. Knowing I don't have to go shopping today (trying to cut shopping trips down to once a week but not quite managing it).
5. Donating a load of old cd's to a charity shop and freeing up some space in my bedroom.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Kiwiblue - if you only knew how it did our hearts good, in this cold grey foggy land, to read your posts about picking apricots and plums and anticipating a swim in your outdoor pool. It helps to remind us that, despite the credit crunch we're all suffering from, at least the politicians can't stop the seasons and that summer will eventually return here.0
