Comments
-
Here's mine:
1. Finding something I needed to buy was on offer half price
2. HM Leek and potato soup
3. Finding out I get an extra day's holiday next year
4. HM curry defrosting at home for a quick easy tea
5. more HM leek and tatty soup in the fridge for tomorrow - my fave soup
6. wrapping a present for a friend who has to have an op soon (knowing it is all from my stash of art stuff I've not even used - she will appreciate it and it didn't actually cost me anything as it was paid for several years ago).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening all - here's my list for today:
1. Watching the sun shine over the hilltops.
2. Making a birthday card for a friend.
3. A phone call from my DS who is always chasing his tail and trying to do the work of 3 men as he tries to build his own business up.
4. Seeing an empty laundry basket!
5. Returning from a funeral and feeling so lucky to be alive, healthy and have a loving family in my life.
This thread always brings a smile to my face and leaves a glow in my heart.
Thank you to everyone who posts.0 -
Here I am as promised, for my daily five:
1 - Because of yesterday stress, I decided to take the day off work! YIPPEE! What a difference it makes to my wellbeing to have a day off to do exactly what I like!
2 - Lovely walk to the shops in the sunshine, with my friend
3 - Finding the right bolts for DS's new Ikea bed (and Ikea put the wrong bolts DOH!) - and they did the trick!
4 - DD, her boyfriend and I did a lot of decluttering today, her room looks 100% better and two of my kitchen cupboards look like they have been reorganised by the husband in the film "Sleeping with the Enemy" (hope that this cinematic reference makes sense to people!).
5 - Tea and panettone (which I had given them for Christmas) at my friend's house - nice break between decluttering and cooking.
Off to watch the Victorian Kitchen prog. now, good night all! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Good morning all
1. Tai Chi with neighbours went so well, at last we all seem to be doing the same moves at the same time.
2. Made apricot chutney after scaling the apricot tree, and it looks great.
3. Distributed apricot jam around the village, popped it into several peoples letterboxes and everyone guessed it was from me. Felt great to bring a smile to peoples faces.
4. Planning a menu for our weekend guests and managing to cater for their various dislikes and allergies.
5. Evening swim in our non heated pool, the water was 28 C and it was so refreshing. We are in the middle of very high temperatures.
Blessings be

I seem to be writing my blessings every two days.............!
1) Was pleased to be back to work today, after being off ill.
2) Had a laugh catching up on the latest news from colleagues re: how their Christmas and New Year celebrations went.
3) Have finished my 2nd book since Christmas, and am about to start my third.
4) Bought myself, niece and nephew a wall calendar each from HMV, all half price.
5) Had dense fog all day and was glad to arrive safely at work, and then to arrive safely at home.0 -
Hi
Not a good day today but will try and count 5 blessings
1 my d son in law made me a lovely cup of tea this evening
2 visited my sister for the first time this year
3 stuck to the diet plan today - hurray!
4 enjoyed bacon, beans and hm chips for tea
5 my dh was ok after his flu jab
Thank you to everyone who has listed their five today - it gave me the enthusiasm to count and list my own. Good night to all.0 -
Today's five from me:
1. Having more of the HM parsnip and apple soup for lunch.
2. Taking some useful stuff to our local recycling furniture store. (Primrose, I know exactly what you mean about having a lighter heart each time another lot of stuff is disposed of, especially to others who can keep items in use a bit longer.)
3. Finishing the first of the socks I am knitting, which is quite beautiful even though I say it myself, and learning, via Youtube, how to sew up the toe seam using Kitchener stich or grafting - a new skill!
4. Getting my second assignment back from an Open University course I am studying with a mark which was a great improvement on the first.
5. Being aware that my decluttering/sorting/organising of our home is starting to pay off in terms of time-saving and money-saving. I can find things and don't need to buy duplicates. I have places to store stuff I choose to keep. There is more of a sense of space. I am feeling more at peace.0 -
Thursday blessings...
1. My new laptop arrived, DS got it up and running for me and I've been playing with it off and on this evening to get used to it. Lost my cool at one stage  but I know I will, with a little patience. Can't wait to get rid of the pc and bulky desk so I can have the bedroom back for when DGD2 comes to visit
2. My first order from the cash and carry arrived...oh, it's just like Christmas all over again here today! I can even get excited about a delivery of food. Now I just have to find the space to store it all
3. Did a search for a car ins quote, as mine runs out in March, and found one with all the bells and whistles I have now at £70 pa less
4. Joined the Sun money back site and have already earned £47:j :j :jI'm on my way to a really good Christmas for all the family!
5. Baby sat for DN(eighbour)'s 9 y/o, we had fun playing bingo and eating lemon cake from my food parcel. Her mum also had a lovely evening (she met a gentleman :shhh: hope she sees him again, she looked really happy when she came home)0 -
Thursday's blessings
1. Travelling with OH to work, dropping him off on the way to my workplace, so that we can cut down on some fuel costs. Can't always do this as I sometimes have to go to other offices, but it is lovely to have some extra time together.
2. Enjoying my OS packed lunch of soup, HM bread and a range of fruit.
3. Coming home to a pre-prepared HM chicken casserole followed by pureed apple and HM yoghurt. All we had to do was re-heat.
4. Watching Masterchef, followed by the Victorian Farm. Loverly
5. Ending the evening curled up in bed, reading Nella Last's Peace.Enjoying an MSE OS life0 -
Feeling quite emotional today, probably lack of sleep as I have a dreadful cough that is keeping me awake half the night. Just reading every ones 5 os brought a tear to my eye:o
Anyway
1. Went to a fabulous garden centre with my MIL and she treated me to a lovely lunch. Just nice to browse at breakables without the kids.
2. Watched an episode of Larkford to Candleford.
3. De-cluttered a bit more, nearly filled another Charity Bag.
4. Had a little look in a gardening brochure and coming up with a few ideas. I have 3 sons who love playing footy in the garden so may experiment with more tubs this year on the patio rather than watching them destroy my borders.
5. OK not in the least OS but the Cleaner came today and the house is immaculate. I got rid of all the clutter but now it is hoovered and polished etc it looks great. My excuse for having a cleaner is that I work 4 days a week, have 3 kids and a big house.(am off this week hence the Garden Centre) She comes alternate Fridays and I love coming home to a tidy house. The beds are made like hotel beds.Money SPENDING Expert0
