    1) Got a bit of work done for my sister while my sons were at their father's.

    2) Went to mum and dad's. My sister had taken my uncle (90), and 2 aunties to see my Grandma (92). Due to everyone's age and ill health, they hadn't seen each other for months. Grandma stayed in the old people's home and the others went to my parent's for lunch and I met them there.

    3) My brother had picked 40lbs of chestnuts for the local nursery so I took them in for him then went to Mr S. Got more gin to make sloe gin with.

    4) Made quite a nice tea, roast chicken, corn on the cob, carrots, roast pots and Yorkshire puddings (little son is mad on Y puddings with any sort of roast!)

    5) Sons happy tonight, little son did some good reading, big son made us up a Star Wars bedtime story and we discussed what we are doing on Friday. Think we have settled on getting the train to Machynlleth and going to the Centre for Alternative Technology....

Good evening  everybody - fairly decent weather here today and still very mild. It's going to take me a couple of days to read up on all the activities/posts from the last couple of days.

    1. Very hectic day on saturday with all the food prep going on. DS2 decided that he would just HAVE to deep-fry quite a lot of stuff and neither of us have a chip pan/fryer. Mad dash to good old Wilko's :T and managed to get a chip basket to fit inside one of his saucepans, then into Asda for 2 bottles of sunflower oil - phew!

    2. DD arrived on Saturday evening with dgk's for the evening, so we could work together to get them all ready for Sunday morning. It was also dgd2's 2nd birthday so we did 'Happy Birthday Cake' with them all. Wish I could say we had an organised bedtime, but I'm afraid it was absolute bedlam! Remembered to do the clocks :j!

    3. Up really early Sunday morning - 6.15am  - so I could be first in the shower! I was even to be seen doing some last minute ironing before leaving for church ;). Arrived in plenty of time, BUT forgot the Baptism Cards and presents ! The service went really well and we were all made very welcome by the 'regular congregation'. Party was a HUGE success and the entertainer/DJ kept all the children fully amused .

The cake is NOT our own handiwork, I hasten to add ;).

    4. DD had a panic attack part way through the day and we came back home after a couple of hours. I'd not seen her take a 'do' like this before and it was very upsetting to see it happen. She, and the kids, stayed overnight again AND all day. MY OH took dgs1 out to Liverpool for the day, to keep him occupied. dgd1 went to her dad's for a couple of days. We've taken DD back home this evening and just left her and the kids heading for bed. She looks exhausted but is going to the doctor in the morning.

    5. Have been back in work today, but all has been fairly quiet so was able to give DD quite a bit of attention and found time for a chat. From what she's been saying, it sounds like her medication is not quite right for her. We're hoping that the gp can sort something out tomorrow - fingers crossed.

Hope that everybody has a peaceful evening and lots of money-saving OS for tomorrow. Nitey nite - love from Ollie xxx

Ollie - that spread looks amazing! Glad things went well and I hope your DD gets her meds sorted quickly.

    My five for the day:

    1. The washing/drying pile has gone down a bit more courtesy of the sunshine.

    2. Tidied up my bedroom (somewhat overdue) so it will be good to sleep in a clear space tonight.

    3. Had a couple of good phone calls with friends this afternoon.

    4. Have been sorting out photos to fill a giant picture frame. It's full of lovely memories and will look fantastic when it's done.

    5. Have cleared the newspaper cuttings and have begun the magazines pile which is slower but much more fun because I'm finding articles I need to save which I didn't know I had. Off to bed with a pile more reading now.

    Sweet dreams

Hello all, I haven't managed to keep up every day with my pleasures but here are some from the last couple of days (also Ollie, what a cake!).
    1. My little doggy getting back to normal after feeling unwell for the last couple of days, we know he's ok now as he's back on the scrounge!
    2. Taking my daughter out shopping today, not very MS but she was so happy with just a few bits and we had a lovely lunch together in M and S.
    3. Choir practice tonight, 2 hours concentration and enjoyment.
    4. Bought a brilliant Wallace and Grommit modelling set at the bring and buy for a pound. It's not even been opened and will make a lovely xmas pressie for DD.
    5. My son making a special effort to get back for his dinner last night because he loves his roast, especially the crackling!
    6. I'll squeeze another one in, I'm still loving that coal house at war programme which I only found out about on here, so relaxing.

That's all for now, thanks to everyone else for posting, I always make this the last thread I read before bed as it sends me off in the right frame of mind!

Morning to everyone, my 5 for today are

    1. Quick tidy up of the flat, clear out 1 drawer in my bedroom.

    2. Freezer find tea tonight, easy evening for me.

    3. Do a bit more of ds's recipe book.

    4. Washing bedclothes, hoping to get them lined dry this afternoon.

    5. Change library books, try and have a nsd, have to walk passed shops near the library. Fingers crossed.:money:

olliebeak loved the pics thanks for posting them, cake is fab. Sorry your dd is not well, hope gp is able to sort her out quickly.

Acey what do you so with the nuts, never heard of them before. Are they used a bit like pickled walnuts, i've used those in a stew once.

Have a good os day everyone

    Good morning, lovely people.

Sunnygirl - Your family is obviously under a lot of pressure and toil and yet you're counting your blessing. Inspirational. I promise not to mutter whilst I sweep the fire grate today.

Olliebeak - Love the spread! I've never cooked for more that four people - Boxing Day this year there will be five! I'm already having palpitations.

    Now, my blessing yesterday...

    1. Drying the laundry the little Economy 7 Pixies had done on the washing line.

    2. A NSD! Woohoo! Hubby resisted the Charity Sweet Box at work because I'd made him some chocolate-cornflake-things.

    3. Can I just mention how wonderful Stardrops and microfiber cloths are? It took me a year to use just one bottle...89p...a whole year's cleaning. I opened the new bottle (bought in Decemeber last year because at the time I thought hey, how long can it last?) yesterday.

    4. Snuggled under the knitted patchwork blanket I made with hubby last night whilst watching The Sarah Jane Adventures on download. We decided to go without TV and watch programmes on download only - which really seems to cut down on your viewing heavily.

    5. Using up the milk that I got the sneeking suspicion was on the turn by making pancakes for dessert.

    I love autumn.

    Have a fanastic day.

    Claire

    Ollie what a fab cake!

    Round up for me:
    1 - sold a CD on Amaz*n already!
2 - was going to say it's not raining........ha but it is boo
3 - OH has found someone to car share with at work which cuts down the hasstle a bit and saves on fuel
4 - finally finished preparing a presentation for work, feeling quite virtuous :)
5 - just found out I have free gym membership through work, woo, just need to go now!

I've just discovered this thread, it's made me feel all warm and squidgey reading it!

    Here's mine for yesterday:

    1. Finishing knitting a pair of pink stripey socks for myself

    2. Starting another pair of rust-coloured socks for my mum's birthday (bargain Lidl wool!)

    3. My friends saying fantastic things about my home made apple pie :o

    4. Being able to drive again for the first time in nearly a week as we got our new car after the old one (14 year old, bless it) died last Monday

    5. Finding really nice lamb mince in the reduced section in Morrisons for very cheap and making awesome minty lamb burgers for dinner :D
