:rotfl: at your No.3, Louba! When we have Team Meetings and we hear that dreaded phrase 'I have total confidence in you all .....' we all groan out loud - we always KNOW it's going to mean extra work  for us. Our Line Manager is absolutely wonderful at delegating - so good in fact, that you don't realise that you've just 'BEEN HAD'!Mortgage as at March 2010 £225,000 target for December 2012 £170,000. Will post yesterdays later. Woke up to a kitchen floor full of maggots today..
:eek::eek: Yuk, yuk and yuk again!
Recent ones for me are:
1. My new neighbour explaining that as part of their culture it is customary to bring some food to the neighbours, and would I like to sample some of her cooking? Who am I to refuse an offer like that?!!! Plus it is lovely to have some friendly neighbours, after the last lot - less said the better there!
2. Getting a letter from the bank saying that even though I'd unintentionally gone overdrawn, they won't be charging me. Phew.
3. Meeting with a friend last night for a drink and trying a new pub.
4. Getting the opportunity to pitch for some regular work in my new chosen profession.
5. Having a work colleague tell me that she'll miss me when I leave.
Hellos and hugs to everyone xxLife is not a dress rehearsal.0 -

Eeww! Poor you Reverbe!
1) House is clean, shopping is done and snow cupboard is very nearly stacked (just in case).
2) Getting seven, yes seven loads of washing dried outside in the sunshine. Where does it all come from? And I've actually bought a big bottle of a big name washing liquid this time as it is supposed to be less costly per wash than the cheapie powder we usually have. We will see.
3) Lying on the ground at the allotment looking for cucumbers under the foliage and finding a monster. 15cm long! Amazing.
4) Yellow sticker chicken breast with own veg in a curry for tea this evening
5) A strange one this. Our jobs are looking a little precarious at work. Certainly, we will have to put up with the 10% pay cut. However, DH has been offered a change to his job which may result in a pay rise.
Somebody loves us. Have a lovely evening, everyone0 -
My neighbour and I had a similar experience last night Reverbe, I left her front door to see hundreds of the little blighters wriggling across the pavement. We traced them back to her other-side neighbour's waste food bin, a good idea in theory but hardly practical to leave food for a week in biodegradable bags which start to degrade after three/four days! We got rid of them in no time with salt...but perhaps that's not such a good idea in the house, ewww
Recent blessings...
1. A friend gave me a carrier bag full of Victoria plums from her garden which have now been turned into 3 crumbles, 3 pies and an old-fashioned plum duff. Also made some individual crumbles to take to some older friends at the weekend.
2. A lovely day so the garden got hours of my attention - sounds energetic but it takes me 3 goes to mow my tiny lawn, having to stop for regular breathing breaks
3. Having finally, after months of putting it off, made the heart-breaking decision that I have to find a new home for my two beloved cats. A strange 'blessing' but it means I'll be able to breathe more easily, and more importantly they'll have a home where they can sit on laps for more than 2 minutes at a time, and get all the attention they deserve :A
4. Turning a turkey drumstick into 2 curries, a pie and enough for sandwiches for a couple of days lunches. I usually allow max 75p a day for meat/fish so I love these which only cost £1.40p in Mr A
5. Winning a s/s day-to-day cutlery set on ebay for £12 which complements my silverware kept only for high days and holidays. I now have 144 pieces  of 'Dubarry' pattern...party anyone? :rotfl:. But at least I can get rid of all the odds and sods I've been using for the past few years.
Night night, sweet dreams and stay safe

Oh eck Reverbe
Mine
1 - a free lunch at work
2- reading on the train
3 - discovering yet unplayed tracks on my ipod
4 - watching the clouds as the train passed through the AONB
5 - looking forward to the weekend:beer:0 -
Good morning all  - OK then - who's moved the six blocks of 14-storey flats that normally sit about half a mile from my back door
? They were there yesterday! It is SO spooky out there this morning - like waking up with your head under the duvet
.
Louba - Hope you're all sorted for your trip - safe journey and enjoy your holiday .
Reverbe - omg ((((HUGS)))) to you - I would be :pale: at the thought of those things.
savingforoz - what a lovely custom of your new neighbour - good to know you've met such a nice person in your building.
Patchwork - good luck on the job front and well done to your OH on his job news.
valk_scot - good idea - or pass them on to a local fisherman. My son has a special fridge for storing his maggots in -.
sparrer - freebie plums and lots of desserts, turkey drumstick mmmmm, but so sorry to hear about your beloved furry friends. Your health MUST come first and ultimately that will lead to a good life for them. :jwell done on your cutlery win.
RainyWednesday - oooooo freebie work lunch :j - love those. Got a couple coming up myself this month with training sessions scheduled
.
1. Oh the joys of my job - block of four flats - these tenants all have 'extra-care needs/learning difficulties' arguing about whose turn it is to clean the corridor/stairs/landing. One of them is a heavy smoker and discards his 'dogends' wherever they land even though the communal parts of the building are 'NO SMOKING - with notices/signs. As for the Recycling Bins - just forget it altogether  - I think we'll just have to have twice the number of regular domestic waste bins - I give up. Have removed all the old signs in the building and replaced with BIGGER, BRIGHTER ones with more PICTURES on them - so fingers crossed.
2. Made a batch of 'freezer-bottom soup' yesterday - with odds and sods of carrot peelings, onions, swede, parsnips, broccoli stalks, celery tops and leek trimmings cooked with left-over chicken stock. OH had a HUGE bowl for his lunch and another three massive portions have gone in the freezer. Rather pleased as all of those would have previously been destined for the bin.
3. Spot of baby-sitting on the cards for tonight - dgs 2&3 (Dylan7 and Billy1) are due this evening till tomorrow afternoon - p-l-e-a-s-e God let Billy sleep through for me! Their mum has gone to Benidorm for a 'girlie weekend' and dad is working on 'earlies' tomorrow morning.
4. Had a lovely salad for evening meal last night and OH bought a fresh pineapple at the shops yesterday - all now sliced/chopped into cubes in the fridge.
5. I think we'll have a chilli meal for this evening - got some turkey mince in the freezer AND some soft tortillas to go with it. Also have some tacos but I can never manage those without them breaking and dropping the filling down my front.
6. Just had a phone call from DD - she's on her way here - why can't that girl find anything to do with her time. So two more dgk's on their way - dgs1 (Nathan8) and dgd2 (Katie 22mths) - fun and games today :j:j.
Oh well better shift my [STRIKE]asre[/STRIKE] backside instead of sitting here messing about!
I'll pop back in again later - love Ollie xxx0
