This weekends blessings
1. DD1 & DD2 doing an athletics competition. Makes for a very long day but much rather they were doing that than hanging around doing nothing.
2. Getting asked to help out at the competition and finding I enjoyed it! Also helped the time to pass.
3. Washing on the line for the first time in a week.
4. My work being very grateful that I can pick up an extra shift. Always nice to feel appreciated.
5. Watching the dog fast asleep obviously dreaming because her feet are all twitching. They look so funny like that. Wonder what she's 'chasing'?

Good morning all  - bit cool and drizzly here today at the moment, but 'they' have promised us something better this afternoon so fingers crossed.
bella - not exactly 'over-budget' there; more like 'invested for Christmas use'.
newlywed - :T wonderful first attempt at bread making. Very productive weekend you've had.
billy858 - well done on your girls having good outside interests. Good that you can have overtime in your job.
RainyWednesday - good for you on your smear test - I need to re-arrange a mammogram - you have spurred me on :T.
Louba - Keep up the good work with the food diary- do you record this for weightloss or indigestion purposes? I've suggested to my daughter that she should keep one to try to find out what foods make her feel really bloated/nauseous/pain.
1. I intend to cook a 'proper meal' this evening - everything has been so chaotic for the past week, that we've resorted to too many 'butty evenings'/takeaways. Chicken pieces are defrosting and we've got some leeks and carrots that need using up - served with mashed pots those will put a smile on OH's face this evening.
2. Work was quiet yesterday - all behaving themselves!
3. Visit from DS2 with dgs's 2&3 yesterday - wanted to wash his car and use my driveway to do it (can't get the car close enough to his own front door to use the vacuum cleaner on the inside) - kept the kids amused with a garden quoits set.
4. DS1 arrived and commented that he also needed to do the same thing following his 'muddy camping trip' at the weekend. GREAT - they BOTH forget that I'm on a flipping water meter . But the blessing was that I had the company of both of them plus two dgs's for an hour.
5. Had a good chat with one of my neighbours (not somebody from my sheltered scheme) which is something that I don't often get the opportunity to do. We're about the same age, so I really enjoyed the natter.
6. I also had a TV watching evening on the sofa with my feet up - love my Emmerdale and Corrie - I've watched both of them from the very first episodes- and THAT is showing my age
.
I'll try to pop back in again through the day, if I get chance for a lunch break. Speak again later and hope everybody has a great money-saving day - love Ollie xxx0 -
Saturday:
1. The weather had turned sunny and bright (and less windy) so we were able to camping after all.
2. Not as many of the group turned up as had originally planned to but it was a great bunch who made up our camp within the camp.
3. The children played happily and safely together all day in the woods.
4. My best friend and her family turning up to join us for a bbq round the campfire later.
5. Sleeping better than I thought I would!
Sunday:
1. Breakfast made over the campfire rather than the gas stove. One of the campers had bought the most amazing hand-made trivet. It took longer but was brilliant!
2. Getting home and the smell of woodsmoke still lingering on our clothes (which I love!).
3. A nice hot shower.
4. Speaking on the phone with my mum, who is in Spain.
5. Sleeping in my own comfy bed.
Monday:
1. Starting back with lessons.
2. Reading loads of stories together.
3. Finishing the planned work early and going for a walk in the woods.
4. Slumdog Millionaire from Lovefilm.
5. A cheap curry for tea!DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Thanks Ollie, its for digestion problems. All my test results have come back clear so it must be something I'm eating or doing so hopefully the diary will help me work it out...and stop OH from nagging me to do it
1 - hmm kept up last night by the couple next door having a blazing row in the middle of the door. My relationship with my ex-h was quite volatile although he was never violent, made me so glad to have my OH and for what we have.
2 - the arguing couple seem to have done a bit of damage to the wall in the communcal area....I phoned to report it to the factors this morning who were really helpful.
3 - A colleague made me a lovely coffee to wake me up - busy day ahead so not having slept isn't ideal
4 - another day closer to holidays :j
5 - searching for a 5th..........hmm, I don't have to actually live with the nasty tempered guy next door!
Good day to all

Hi all,
I am thankful for the OS board and the people on it who:
1. help teach me how to make bread
2. answer my questions on how to make the bread into iced finger buns
3. teach me (and remind me) to freeze what I have made so that nothing gets wasted
4. remind me to plan my meals so that even though I am short of money till payday now (overspent again) I know that we have most meals sorted till payday and mostly just milk, cereal, fruit, and a large chicken to buy (and lots of cooking of cakes and goodies to be done by me).
5. Help remind me that although I ache all over today and feel very tired, there are things to be thankful for.
and 6. My lunch today being HM bread, HM butternut squash soup, HM damson pie
Edited: 7: my Cistus Alan Fradd plant bought from ebay turning up in the post well packed and looking healthyworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Today's pleasures were -
- Fitting draught excluders to doors and realising my keenly priced kit will actually do one more door than I thought!
- Pouring the excess boiling water into my flask to use for another cuppa later tonight.
- Going into the supermarket for loo paper and not falling for the "half price" bargain positioned right at the front door.
- In said supermarket only buying what I went in for with no extras.
- Feeling a bit chilly and not turning on the heating - I put a jumper on for the first time in years indoors

Hi everyone
Olliebeak - please get your mammogram sorted out, having regular smears probably saved my life
Mine for today (this is going to be struggle because I've been down and haven't been very OS)
1 - HM soup and roll for lunch
2 - getting 25% off a much needed new jumper using a National Glamour Week code (lmy old clothes are too big after losing weight)
3 - stir fry made from veg from the lottie
4 - getting a whole chapter of my book read of the train (Modern History of Russia, I've been reading it for a month, it's some going)
5 - ordering a free perfume sample from the freebies board
Hey, that's not so bad after allI love this thread for helping me focus
3 -:beer:0 -
Well done Rainy for losing so much weight you need new jumpers!
1) A hug from a colleague today. I thought there was something wrong but she said I needed it!
2) Three different meals between four of us to make use of all our leftovers in the fridge, padded out with home grown veg
3) Choosing a new pot of chutney with DH from the pantry
4) Rice pudding made on top of the stove, an idea from another MSE thread. (Add coconut - tastes yummy)
5) Burning bits of free wood from friends on the stove0
