Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.0 -
My rads on our adjoining wall are now cardboarded, polystyrened and foiled behind so she gets none of my heat :rotfl: :T :rotfl:
LMAO :rotfl: :rotfl:
1. Having old fashioned bubble and squeak using the leftovers (reminds me of my Mum - not the leftovers, the bubble and squeak bit)
2. Getting a vintage pair of earrings off e-bay which I paid pennies for (any post really and I'm happy)
3. Seeing all the birdies waiting for me to feed them outside
4. Finding out what a mess my old job's in because management have cocked up big time
5. Counting my change in my piggy banks and having £78 to bank into my new savings account with the co-op :T
And tonight is a needlework abd bath'n' book night (not all at the same time, obviously not that would be silly) - I'm well on the way to finishing Celtic Autumn as I'm on the border now. What shall I do next - oooh time for a rummage in the suitcase of delights! But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
I have had a delightful day of OS pleasures
1. Watched the birds eating from my homemade bird feeders - the children got the binoculers out to watch them but insisted on using them the wrong way round so despite their protests, I knew they couldn't see anything!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:
2. Went to the library for books for us all
3. Took the children apple picking at a very kind 'freecycler's garden and came back with lots and lots of tasty apples0 -
1. Having a surprise visit from DS and my grand daughter this morning.
2. Having a lovely fish and chips with mushy peas, lunch with OH, in a pub.
3. Buying a luxury faux fur throw for the sofa for half price.
4. Finding a big pork hock in Morrisons for £1.67. One for the slow cooker.
5. Snuggling on the new throw on the sofa and watching telly.

3. HM salmon fishcakes for dinner (previously made & frozen) & HM wedges.
4. I am one of the winners of the love food hate waste giveaway. WOW!
5. Last but by no means least - a lovely cuddle with DH before we got up this morning.

Hi all
Here are mine:
1 - Inviting my friend (who has just finished her last course of chemotherapy) out to lunch and finding a very good bargain (pizza and 1/2 pint beer for £5.95) in a pizzeria/microbrewery local to me.
2 - Going with above friend to a new knitters meeting at the Reminiscence Centre and knitting with a group of very pleasant women.
3 - Drinking tea and eating HM cake at above meeting
4 - Coming back home and finding that my DS has painted the new front gate (at the promised cost of £10, which saves me £30 from what the builders had quoted us!).
5 - Cooking enough potatoes and veg so that tomorrow morning I can treat myself to bubble and squeak with fried egg.
Love this thread, it is always so positive!
Good night all
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Morning !
1. Waking up to another sunny day so heating can stay off.
2. Watching squirrels chasing each other around the garden.
3. Rare visit from a black & white spotted woodpecker.
4. Friendly chat with passing neighbour as I was putting the recyling bin out.
5. Laughing with our window cleaner who had just had a new customer enquiry come through his wesite onto his mobile phone e-mail because the customer was enquiring from Massachusetts in USA ! He said he'd do the job if the customer would pay the air fares !!
And it's only 10 a.m. Reckon this thread should be compulsory viewing in these difficult times.0
