For today -
- hanging washing out on my new line this sunny morning :j
- folding up and putting away the laundry this evening!
- shopping with my sis and not buying anything except what was on my list
- using up some nearly-too-tired courgettes in a courgette and tomato gratin
- sorting out my spare fleece blankets to wash so they're nice and fresh for the winter
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Knitting a scarf using wool from a charity shop
Hanging the washing over the airers

I'm so glad to see this thread again.
1) Finishing 3 more crochet squares, that makes 54 out of 60 for my next blanket.
2) Getting to the end of Ham week & realising the a £3 piece of gammon had fed us both lunch & dinner for a whole week
3) Selling a DVD on Amazon (not sure if that counts)
4) Spending 89p on some liver & realising that should be all I need to spend next week.
5) Reading on Facebook that my DGD 10 months had climbed up a flight of stairs helped by her big brother.

Hello
What a brilliant thread this is. Sometimes it's easy to feel that by being OS we're missing out on things. This thread is the perfect way to celebrate the pleasure it gives us.
So my list for the day is;
1 Home made bread is in the oven & smelling wonderful
2 I've started putting a Christmas present together for my daughter made up of lots of nice free samples I've been collecting this year. So far I have, mascara, lip gloss, eye shadow, nail polish, body lotion & exfoliating gloves.
3 Homemade pizza & homemade ciabatta for dinner tonight
4 This afternoon I'm going to make new PJ pants from a cotton duvet cover I got from a charity shop.
5 Setting up a spreadsheet to manage my monthly on-line grocery shop.
That sounds like my favourite sort of day.

Ah, a weekend where I have nothing planned except getting the house & freezer in order before 3 very hectic upcoming weeks... Looking forward to it!
1 - Roast chicken for dinner (cheapo from Lidl.. very chuffed with the price :rotfl:) and assorted niceness, and should keep us going for a while.
2 - Baking day! Going to get some of Twink's hobnobs and some cakes on the go this afternoon.
3 - Sadly, I also have to get the hoovering done.. Oh how I hate it!
4 - Almost got all the washing done, no small victory! Just hope that the big black cloud currently sitting over my house moves on quickly, so I can actually get them out and drying on the line!
5 - Due to an impulse wander into Mr Ts yesterday over lunch (not usually a good thing) but got a bag of carrots for 25p. So, am thinking I'm going to make some carrot jam.
Ah how I have to balance the fun cooking, with the boring boring hoovering.... :rolleyes:Perpetual Lurker!

Ok folks, first of all I want to thank you all because this thread always cheers me up, just finished having a big row with my husband and needed a it of heart-warming! So here are my five for today:
1 - Been to the herbal medicine student clinic at the University (much cheaper than going to a private medical herbalist)
2 - Just eaten a lovely leftovers soup (couscous and casserole remains from yesterday plus some HM baked beans leftovers from breakfast)
3 - Enjoying a finger-warming cup of tea
4 - Continued knitting the jumper I started the other day
5 - Last but not least, I am now going to give Stupid (guess who hehe) a hug, life is too short to bear a grudge!
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Catarina, here's dodgy hug for you :grouphug:
my 5 for today -- my flu jab this morning; not exactly OS but nice to know that I have that protection and hopefully won't need to spend a fortune on meds this winter!
- washing drying on the line – I know I’m repeating this one
but its such joy after being without a line for nearly 5 months
- using my new electric sweeper, bought from a charity sale
- planning what to do with all the lovely veggies I bought in Lidl yesterday
- enjoying the prospect of a whole day tomorrow to do as I please
... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
