1)Picking some rose hips, michaelmas daisies and sedum from my garden and putting them in a jug on the mantelpiece -DS1 says it looks very autumnal.
2)Collecting a few more raspberries -might have enough for a small batch of jam, or I might try raspberry brandy for Christmas.
3)3 more tubs of chicken stock to add to my stock glacier in the freezer.
4) 30 rolls and 4 loaves stashed in the freezer.
5) My new parcel from Amazon! Yes it's another book recommendation from me:rolleyes: I really recommend this one and it is so appropriate to this thread. Ask your library to get it for you if you aren't a spendthriftlady like me;) The Wonderful Weekend Book : Reclaiming Life's Simple Pleasures. Ideas from the book that I'm going to think about putting into action are; keeping a gratitude journal, taking more photos, starting an anthology, making a proper recipe book of all our favourite recipes and having a nature table (or a nature tray at least).0 -
What a lovely thread
1) Kicking through piles of red and gold leaves on my way to the station tonight, with the sunlight slanting low over the rooftops to bathe everything prettily.(Yes, I'm feeling poetic)
2) Looking through the yellow stickered items in Mr M's at lunchtime and not buying anything I didn't need.
3) Having a nice catch up conversation with my Mum.
4) Knitting the scarf my niece asked for as a Christmas present, as she liked the one I gave her so much last year and it's too small now.
5) Talking about baking and thrifty ways at work, and finding the office offering all kinds of helpful suggestions.Continually trying the Grocery Challenge. Gotta keep trying!0 -
1. Picking turnips and courgettes from the garden for 3 small Grandchildren to take to their school harvest festival.

5 Sitting warm and snug wrapped in my fleece blanket Husband by my side no heating on yet in this house.
