Getting a line full of washing dry
Sorting out all my beads & jewellery findings
Babysitting for DGS
Blitzing DD's kitchen for her.
Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.0 -

I have not got any OS pleasures yet today! Feel too knackered to think it will be pleasureable!
Yesterday it was:
HM banana cake
DS picking wild mushrooms and finding out that they actualy ARE edible
Proper Sunday Dinner (always do it but it is still a pleasure)
Being up to speed with my housework rota.
DH lolling around the floor - but only because he was painting radiatorsMember no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
I have done reading too!
To avoid all evil, to do good,
to purify the mind- that is the
teaching of the Buddhas.0 -
1. Packing OH's lunch and giving him a big flask of HM lentil soup to warm him up at lunchtime
2.Knowing everybody's clothes this morning were washed and dried over the weekend without using the tumble drier
3.Leaving the HM chilli out of the freezer to defrost ready to eat tonight. (easy nights cooking for me:D )
4.Having a stress free morning because I got off my bum yesterday evening and got everything organised. No running around at 8 am looking for PE kits etc
5.Listening to my 22 month old son singing along to Iggle Piggle's song while watching his In the Night Garden DVD.How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?0 -
I'll do mine for yesterday since it's too early to do todays:
1. Cleaning & tidying the whole house to such a standard that when OH got back from Scotland he said "wow, the house looks great!"
2. Prepared a big batch of stewed apples using apples picked for free from the local dene (I barely left a dent in the trees, there's hundreds of apples on them!)
3. Making a roast dinner ready for OH & one of our mates coming back from Scotland and putting some broth mix in to soak ready to use the carcass for HM chicken broth (lunch for me for the whole week!)
4. Making a big batch of weetabix brownies, big batch of tiffin (using old soft biccies about to be thrown out at work), and making apple pie & HM custard to have after the roast (plus there's egg whites left so I'm making meringue nests tonight).
5. Being complimented by our friend for my skills, when I said we had HM apple pie & HM custard for dessert he said words to the effect of "wow, you're brilliant!"
There were more OS pleasures yesterday but those are the top 5 ones0 -
I'd forgotten about this thread :rotfl:
Mine are for the last couple of days -big cheat:o
1) Having an unexpected guest to lunch on Saturday and him being really impressed with my Saturday Soup (butternut squash, kidney bean and sweetcorn). We had it with croutons made from cubed crusts. Guest asked if they were homemade -I didn't know you could buy croutons -they're only fried bread after all.
2) My mum bringing me some pumpkins and squashes from the garden she volunteers in. They will keep for ages and were free and local:j
3)Stewing a load of quinces from my tree for the freezer.
4) Cooking a huge gammon joint for tea yesterday, slicing it up this morning to freeze for sandwiches and other meals. Much cheaper then buying ready sliced in packets.
5) Getting a huge pot of ham stock after boiling the gammon -making split pea soup for lunch today.0 -
Well maybe not today, but, over the week-end,
1 cooked lovely scottish fillet of beef for lunch yesterday, yellow stickered from £10.40 to £2.40 at my local co-op.
2 Line dried all washing ,ironed and put away.
3 cleaned the whole house this morning from top to bottom using nothing but damp micro fibre cloths and a little stardrops.
4 sent off for a boots voucher from pigsback
5 sat back and realised how very, very happy I am living even more of a frugal life now that I no longer work.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0 -
1) My HM bread (my best ever bread - my mum and Freya loved it
) and soup
2) HM peas with ham which will be part of dinner (if not all tonight)
3) I lifted my saving jar and could actually feel that I had a bit of dosh in there
4) Seeing my daughter smile and laugh - best things in life are free
5) All the free exercise I get from running around after my wee monkey (who is leaning as close to my laptop as possible without actually touching it (so she can't be 'checked'!)).
Life is good.

:j ok, here goes
1) slow cook on with home made beef curry wafting through house, mmmmm:p
2) Cleaning out real fire place, for the first time this autumn, in preparation for a roaring log/coal fire tonight
3) made my favourite comfort food, home made potatoe salad
4) yesterday's chicken carcass boiling, as I type, ready to make chicken noodle soup for all week
5) Been upstairs today, in our new winter hide away snugg:T (well thats what oh calls our bedroom, since he has bought new tv and got all his gaming consoles up there.) It is much warmer upstairs and we don't need central heating on. :money: We have lots of throws on the beds and it has a lovely wintery feel !!!:T'If you judge people, you have no time to love them'

# Took 6 (yes six) bags clothes etc to two different charity shops, all nice stuff, just too small - I have at last decided that clutter is exhausting and that I'm never going to be a size 14 again, and even if I were wouldn't wear those things. IT FELT GREAT.
# made supper shepherd's pie out of stuff left over from weekend - it's FREE !
# decided to stop moaning about disgusting shower room and redecorate it myself with OH's help (whether he likes or not)
# made a nice new batch of easiyo
# made a seedy brown loaf - yum. I am very keen on seeds at present.
# went to Mr T and only got things on my list and avoided the chocolate aisle.:rotfl:0
