First time I have read this thread, I love reading everyones posts.
Over the last few days mine are
Collecting free fruit donated from freecyclers
Collecting jam jars today from a freecycler, so I can make chutney with the fruit
Making a delicious soup that is new to me and watching my DD7 eat a whole bowl for the first time ever (I realised she didnt like pureed soup so left it lumpy)
Reading the old style forum
Learning I can grow blueberries in a pot (I'm not very green fingered!)“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -
1. Putting a little more 'thought' into food. I was going to do spag bol with mince, was browning the mince but realised there was chicken which needed using (previously frozen) which would have been just picked at until scoffed (DP a nightmare for left over meat in fridge and will just pick until it's gone) so I've thrown the mince cooked off in fridge to do shepherds pie tomorrow and did 'italian chicken' instead
2. Sweeping and mopping floors instead of vacuuming
3. Recycling sorting, my son saying 'I wish other people recycled as much as we do'
4. Being a bit more organised by updating calendar etc
5. Finding things I thought I had lost for goodwhile decluttering, will save me money on replacing them
One day I might be more organised...........

What a lot of replies this thread has had
I'm glad it's reminded people that OS is not just about saving money -that's an added bonus.
1) I bought a tray of 13lbs damsons from the farmshop for £5.50 (42p a lb) half will go to chutney (see below) and the rest are in the freezer waiting to be turned into damson gin and damson puree for adding to yogurt and ice cream.
2) I've got a ginormous pan of damson chutney on the go -took me ages to stone 6lbs of damsons but smells wonderful and will taste lovely in 3 months (my birthday!)
3) Picked a huge mixing bowl full of blackberries in my garden.
4) Made a lovely looking blackberry cake for tea to eat warm with cream.
5) No-one likes the sliced bread we brought home from our holiday -it smells funny apparentlyWill have to bake some tomorrow or there'll be a riot.

1, the lovely roast dinner i made including 2 new veg that came in veg box.
2, the delicious chinese beef curry and egg fried rice for 2 (with leftovers) i made that cost about £2.50 instead of the £15 it would have been at the takeaway.
3, the enjoyment ds got helping to make up the party bags for next weeks birthday.
4, the thought that most of next weeks dinners are already cooked/prepared.- prior planning prevents poor performance!
