  • Hi everyone
Feeling a bit down and lethargic today, so thought I'd buck myself up by thinking through my pleasures.

    1. Its not raining (but very windy).

    2. have rearranged the lounge to provide an office space for OH to use post op, and the area doesn't look too intrusive.

    3. Made a batch of apple and grape juice yesterday which OH throughly enjoyed. Will make another batch today when I get some enthusiasm.

    4. Did a huge batch of washing yesterday, so can relax a bit today.

    5. Spent several hours trimming trees on our very very long driveway and it now looks much neater and much more open.

    Blessings be
    Jennie

Sleep tight mot - I'm trotting around doing the same sorts of closedown on these Boards as you:D .

    1. Painted/stained fence - 2 coats and both sides now finished over 2 days.
Came in well after 6 when it was dark...I'll see the missed bits in the morning:rolleyes: .

    2. Throughout, having birds landing on fence inches from me, flying in from opposite side, then being surprised to find me there.

    3. Having suddenly read CHAOS and CRAFT posts properly - and laughing in self-recogitiony sort of 'Mmmm' headyniddynoddyway.

    4. Wonderful call from xx, elated after her CAP visit - at last she will have the help necessary to live and control her life.:T

    5. Hearing this line in play earlier: 'Her eyes were glinting quietly'.........????
I'm still ruminating........In fact mine are doing the same as I head for early bed. Up to make cakes in morning for someone off to NZ.

    Night all - sleep sweetly.

Just a little hello, kiwiblue - you had such a marvellous family time, especially when you met dgs at school by surprise, so you're bound to feel a bit flat on returning, especially when OH's operation is now 'this' month and your mind will be there.
We'll be thinking of you both.

Evening all! I haven't posted on here for a while, been exhausted frrom work in the week.

    - planting up and watering the pots in my back yard, they're looking much more colurful now (and my lovely Mum bought me the plants, so was effectively free!)
    - spending the afternoon with my Mum sorting through her fabric basket, and rescuing some lovely bits she had no room for
    - starting to sort through the wardrobes in my old bedroom and finding lots of unused bits and pieces to go into my present cupboard
    - having cuddles with my gorgeous cat
    - taking some hm cheese scones out the freezer for the week
  • Hello everyone - would like to join in if I may.

Have been feeling a bit low & stressed today - so after giving myself a good talking to, decided to concentrate on the positive rather than the negative.

    So 5 OS pleasures:

    1. Has to be the OS thread - no matter what threads I look at on MSE, I return time and again to OS - it just feels soooo right :j

    2. Have spent a week trying to reduce gas and electric and have succeeded - gas use is down by 25% and electric by 33% (ish) :T

    3. Managed to reduce weekly shopping bill by £20 :D

    4. Spent said £20 on new baking tins and trays - can't wait to try out some OS recipes :rotfl:

    5. Had a big hug with ds (17) - so don't get them very often now and cherish every second of them

Night everyone - take care all,
    Thrifty

Hello thriftyscotslass :hello: - I'm another one who just has to start her day with a visit to the OldStyle Board - my morning routine would NOT be the same without ;).

    1. Baking session this morning - 12 sweet scones (not done any for YEARS so was so proud of them rising just right :D) and the gorgeous Lemon Drizzle Cake.
    2. Whoopsied:j Organic Roast Leg of Pork for lunch with stuffing, creamed potatoes, steamed veggies (carrots and broccoli) and yummy gravy for lunch today. OH was well impressed :D.
    3. Prepped and froze some more veggies - all now stashed in bags and labelled.
    4. Managed to get a wash-load done and dried outdoors today :).
    5. Sat with OH to watch Dancing on Ice. Great entertainment BUT what is happening with the viewers voting system at the moment? Last week Jessica was in the skate-off and this week Zoe was. I can't believe that people at home thought that either of those two warranted being in the skate-off!

Oh well back to work in the morning - hope my scratchy throat responds to another hot toddy (or 2) this evening - hic!

Nitey nite all - Ollie xxx
  • Well, maybe I can squeeze another five in before today turns into tomorrow

    1) Digging in the garden. Have been looking at it all winter and not wanting to start
    2) Robin and Mrs Robin hopping over the turned earth as I was digging
    3) My brother turned up today for a cup of tea. I haven't seen him since before Christmas
    4) Big family tea with DD's bf too
    5) A long chat on the doorstep with a friend who was just dropping something off

    Hello all,
Had a horrible experience at work tonight with an obnoxious drunk. It can just take an incident like that to spoil the atmosphere for the whole evening and make us feel so upset, so having arrived home, decided to try and focus on some positives instead!
    My 5 for Sunday;
    1. Lovely bright day here, chilly but an uplifting blue sky.
    2. Enjoy my coffee time even more now, since I stopped buying instant, (cos I was drinking so much of it) and bought a one cup cafetiere and my favourite Colombian blend. Now I sit down and really savour my one cup of lovely dark strong coffee each day.
    3. Lovely helpful staff take trolley to the car and load up all the heavy stuff for me without having to be asked at the Chinese supermarket wholesaler, I went to this afternoon.
4.DD went to 21st birthday party last night and asked if I would like to see her photos. Had to laugh, they were mostly of her and her friend grinning and pulling faces at the camera.
    5. DD and I getting excited about our impending holiday, going on Tuesday.

Another half an hour on MSE, then bedtime. Night night!

Hugs to all that need or want them.

    My quick five for Sunday.

    1. Lots of sunshine.:D

    2. Working out some more of the planting for the garden. We are basically starting from scratch with a patio garden so trying to keep the costs down is a priority and edible stuff has to come first. I've done all the gardening-related competitions I could find!

    3. Visiting the garden centre and coming away with just a few bits including some free sweet pea seeds.

    4. Reading a Sunday newspaper and deciding to send off for the free strawberries offer. Someone on the Gardening forum had a really good idea about stacking flowerpots to make room for things like strawberries - I like the look of that. http://www.flickr.com/photos/32201574@N00/2564444820

    5. Getting on with my knitting while watching a film on the telly tonight.

    Sleep well everyone.

Sorry this comment is not relevant to the thread - but Ollie, I just have to agree with you about Dancing on Ice! Its ridiculous isn't it? There was one obvious choice for vote off but she wasn't even in the bottom two

    Besides which,
Haere mai and Bonjour, as well as Hello tsl.
I agree with you and Ollie, having found this Thread.
Find good moments in your day everyone - they ARE there.

That experience is now in yesterday's box bronnie - let it stay there, receding daily. Easier said than done, I know, but you came here - good - so it's now divided and diminished among so many of us:T .
