This alleged incident seems very timely to back up your story.
And where was the child whilst his mother was sobbing for half an hour in front of the TV and his dad was in the kitchen for half an hour with his grandad? Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Bluelass, how about if you and your hub let it be known that you are having a two week "holiday" from these sorts of calls (obviously unless anything genuinely requiring hospital treatment transpires). If Step-DIL gets wound up, then the son has to help her, with no reference to you OR hub for the next two weeks. See how they can cope together.
Probably a daft suggestion; but I can't see how this situation can ever be resolved when you are running and reacting to every call.
The other thread about her chocolates and fizzy drinks really wasn't very nice, you know.0 -

If she has possible mental health problems then your stepson needs to contact her GP rather than the two of you. Tell him to do this.
BTW - calling someone "nutty" is neither nice or helpful. If she has genuine problems then she needs professional help and a lot of support. If your dislike of her (don't deny, we've read your posts about her) means that you can't be part of this support then you should leave the rest of the family to do this for her and her son.0 -
That has occurred to me and my hubby yes. When her and my stepson started planning to have a child he told her it would be a big responsibility and that if she wanted to return to work they would have to arrange for childcare. I work part time and my hubby full time people cant just give up work for an indulgent air head we have pensions we have to pay into as well as her.Do you think she might be hoping you and/or your husband will offer to look after the baby if she says he's not being cared for elsewhere?Britain is great but Manchester is greater0 -
