They are not referring to the physical line to the house, but the connection (activation) at the exchange.

anyone tried using their code and been told that Sky Broadband is not available in your area so you have to pay extra for fibre? what a joke!

I've tried all afternoon to chat with an online assistant for an explanation but apparently they are too busy. Broadband availability checkers show many suppliers offering service from my ADSL exchange up to 17Gb but Sky's speed connection is quoted as 38Gb (ie Fibre speeds).

Same here. Free boradband is actually £28 per month. No thanks.
