To all who are asking for a "spare" code, when going for this offer you had to fill in your name and address,(can't remember if phone number as well). So surely the code will be registered to the address won't it?

  • I got an email saying I had the code, and got another email this morning offering a link to use the code....but neither email actually has a code to use! Anyone else had this?

In relation to my bold, what is Sky Broadband Shield ?

I am assuming it is SKYs firewall or antivirus, as I use an "in house", (Windows?),firewall and AVG, will this affect those and why would they stipulate this?

One of the Q&As in that link says:

What do I do if I don't want Sky broadband Shield:-
Sky Broadband Shield is optional, so if you'd like to continue to use your broadband with no filtering, please let us know by choosing not to use Sky Broadband Shield.

The answer is it is optional, but the T&Cs of the offer are not as they say"Sky Broadband Shield activation required".

But it looks like it can be turned off after contract starts.

  • I got my link through this morning but something that is confusing me is that my house doesn't currently have an active landline but there is one installed, therefor on the sign up process it keeps adding the £20 fee for the landline installation.
Is this something I wouldn't have to pay if i got through to sky on the phone and explained the situation or does a new landline mean activating an unused one too?

    Thanks for any help
  • I've missed out :( does anyone have a spare code?

I spoke to a guy on the phone on Wednesday re this £20 charge and he informed me that SKY charged this on all new phone line contracts regardless of anything, (he also said all others did same, I told him not true as it has never happened to me yet), and that no-one on the phones would know anything about this offer as it was from an outside source,(MSE), and therefore no-one from SKY would be able to help.

But give it a try on one of these freephone numbers:
    0800 1512758
    0800 1512747
