  • Thanks! Still at 0.01 trees but we're generating more today than yesterday so far. :)

Pay arrived in my account this morning, and HR has said they'll process the payment for my season ticket in a week. So that should help out the bank accounts.

DH applied for a H@lifax 0% card that was listed in the MSE e-mail and got declined. :( Guessing it's due to us opening 4 bank accounts (one with H@lifax :p) in the last month to get money earning 5%, but still annoying. Ah well, at least we'd only planned to stooze anyway.

Checking in on this thread. Hoping to have mind paid off by 2021.

Original end date was 2038. I think 2021 is best case scenario and it could be later but god loves a trier.
  • Good luck with yours, andrew! Our original end date was 2038 as well - refinance in January will bring it down to 2027 but I'm hoping we can do much better than that.
  • I got turned down for the CC as well despite opening a bank account with them!

It does seem odd. I have a CC with them (0% on it until January and then it'll be paid off - used the transfer money to OP the mortgage :D), but I don't think I'd applied for much before that. Either that or DH's credit is worse than mine (which seems unlikely as he has a longer history in the UK than me).

£17.38 from TCB today. :) Haven't actually gotten our toilet/sink from H0mebase yet, but it should arrive next weekend.

I was good and allocated the money towards various pots rather than at the mortgage - should be ahead of our goal now anyway, and we need to make sure we can afford house stuff over the winter (booked in door replacement with the carpenter, though MIL has offered to pay for part/all of that as a belated wedding gift; still need to confirm water softener booking).

Application for FIT payments submitted. :) Should be processed within 6 weeks. (Nice side effect is that we finally have a copy of our council tax bill scanned, so can provide it upon demand as proof of address rather than faffing about the house frantically looking for the original.)
  • Met up with a friend for dinner and a movie last night. I treated her to dinner as she treated me to the movie. :) Spend was within the eating out budget for the month (still have £18.80 left), but I still felt bad as I'd pre-adjusted next month's amounts on the assumption that we'd finished eating out this month. So lesson there - don't shuffle around money pot "excesses" until the month is over, because you won't want to shuffle things back (and I don't want to not go to dinner with friends just to not use our allocated budgets for fun things!).

Ordered some things from !KEA so that next weekend we should be ready to swap out our dishwasher and get our bedroom finished. :) Hoping the new mattress we ordered will help my stiff back.

Roll on Sunday mortgage payment! ;)
  • November payment's posted, bringing the balance down to £164,907.08 :D

    October OPs: £503.28

    Current balance: £164,907.08
Month we’d be in to get to our current balance without OPs: August 2019

    2015 Overpayments: £10,771.31
    2015 Interest Saved: £8,267.42

    Total Overpayments: £22,791.09
    Total Interest Saved: £25,513.44

    Daily Interest: £19.02 (down £0.14)
    Monthly Interest: £573.90 (down £29.13)

    House Bricks: +1
  • Made a £50 OP out of my allowance money, balance should be £164,857.08. For some reason FD is showing the interest payment and my £50 OP but they haven't actually transferred the money from my current account to the mortgage, so that'll happen tomorrow I guess?

Also earned £8.85 interest from N@tionwide. :) Still waiting on T$B to apply interest to our accounts.
