See what I found happybeds.co.uk/blog/2015/09/19/songwriter-composes-music-to-sleep-to . Why not? you can test that song, you may sleep longer? I listen to music when I want to sleep but thoughts doesn't allow me. Or just do breathing exercises from yoga in the bed. it helps0

Going for MRI tomorrow, bit worried as I don't know if I'll be completely enclosed, or whether I can have my head out. I googled micro discectomy, looked quite radical, especially as I'm still recovering from knee replacement.0

I went into a shop a few months ago and was unable to find a particular item. I asked one of the staff and offered to take me to where the item was. As he does he suddenly turns round says I hope I am not going too fast for you.
There may be frost on the roof but it does not mean I am passed it.
Little did he know I walk about 10-15 miles a day and cycle very regularly. Also I never use a bus pass as I prefer getting lots of exercise.0 -

yes, well meaning and kind but I hate it when I get spoken down to, or when assistants speak slowly as though I can`t take it in. I don`t look astute and young but I have a very lively mind, still doing financial stockmarkets and thinking problems through. I have a physics degree but I keep my mouth shut. This is one of the aspects of getting older that I really don`t like but I do take it the way it was intended and I smile to myself
Far too little sleep last night, full moon related. Dark in the room and quiet but I never sleep soundly when the moon is waxing almost full0 -
maybe it is my blood sugar waking me up. I am going to try this re celery
A few stalks with some sugar-free peanut butter as a bedtime snack can help sleep quality and keep your blood sugar levels constant throughout the night to prevent sudden night-time waking.0 -
Tnx Kittie, I am sleeping very badly, so will try this tonight.
MRI not too bad, scanner went up to top of my head, and given headphones, though would have been nice to have some music through them. Best part was hot chocolate from free drinks machine afterwards!
Should get results next week, so bit worried what they will show up.0 -

Try not to worry Cupcake .... at least you are a step nearer to getting things sorted0 -
Cupcake - look on the positive side- if MRI shows up stuff then at least you know about it and possibility is it can be sorted.
Even if it is news that is life threatening - again you are forewarned and can take measures, whatever those are.0 -
Thanks Sanschoot49 and PennyForThem. Your support and kind words are good to read. Just been feeling very low lately, it's been one thing after another.0

Thanks for your reply Sanschoot49. What treatment are you having for your problem?
Still recovering from my knee replacement in April, so loathe to start again with hospitals for something else.
Trouble is the pain (which is awful first thing, but the more I move about, gradually disappears durung the day) is affecting my walking. It is much worse on the side of the knee replacement, so don't know if it is caused by walking badly before the op. Chicken and egg situation.

I had had weeks of physio by this time which in the end did no good.
I had the micro discectomy about 3 weeks ago, have had significant pain relief so far and am optimistic.
Hope you get it sorted, it really is the worst thing I have ever experienced pain wise, plus I need to work to earn money and when this is really bad you have a job to get out of bed never mind anything else."0
