  • Hey

Just to tell everyone and add to this growing forum. I checked my bank account online a couple of days back, there had been two transactions made by Ladbrokes which wasn't me! Both were quite large amounts of money, £400 and £786. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Also the next day two more transactions were made by the now infamous WP-STAGECOACH both were for £1.50. Anyway I phoned Lloyds as soon as I could and they sorted it and I've recieved all the money back. Again I don't know how this happened because I'm very careful with my card and its always on me. Hope this doesn't happen again.
  • Just checked my CC account online and there's a £1.50 charge from WP-STAGECOACH SERV STOCKPORT GB
    .
Transaction was two days ago so I guess they hadn't got round to the big stuff yet.

    Card now cancelled.
  • Hi
Just to let you know that this practise is obviously 'rife' at present. I tried to log into my account and it said that I had no associated cards with it. Phone call to my bank and hey presto - they had stopped my card because of possible fraud on the account.

First transaction to STAGECOACH a couple of days ago for £5.50, on the same day a t-mobile for £30 and Vodafone for £31.27 and another for a clothing company for £170., next day vodafone again and another clothing company for £320 and then someone is going to receive a nice present from tiffany's for £850 and it is not me! Six days another WP STAGECOACH for £5.50 and Vodafone again so whether my details have been sold on to another person who knows and they are just testing the card. The bank have also said that there are numerous payments pending (not all in the UK but Ireland as well!) and a management and consultancy agency for £559. They also said that a lot of on-line transactions take several days to appear at the branch. They have said that I will get this back but it is the hassle of it all and knowing that these thieves are protected really gets me fuming! I have only ever given my card details over the phone to one hire company (no-one else) who employs a lot of eastern europeans to deliver hire cars/vans. I will get the money back apparently but they are getting away with thousands of pounds of goods and seem to not be investigated by the police because it is a 'bank problem'. And I thought Fraud was a crime.... silly me! Why bother working when you can sit at home and order expensive items with stolen card details to sell on at your leisure for a nice profit (in between signing on days probably!) Sorry but had to rant somewhere!!!
  • This happened to me this week, I spotted a £20 payment to "Nat Express - Elect Comm Birmingham" and called immediately to stop the card. Turns out two more to the same orgnaisation had been pending. Only 60 pounds worth of damage.

Would love to know where they got my debit card details from.

  • Have just looked at my Halifax account and seen a transaction for £1.50 for wp stagecoach serv , which struck me as odd so after ringing Halifax and being told when the transaction happened i can only think that it was skimmed after i purchased a gift voucher from last minute .com , The Halifax are now looking into this and have cancelled my card so they can't take anymore , it's a shame really because i do a lot of online shopping and this is the first time something like this has happened but well done to Halifax for acting so swiftly for me

    Hi,

Just found out today that £3.50 has been taken by the now infamous "Stagecoach" and then another £499 by Easy Computers Ltd".

If anyone is in the Cheshire (Ellesmere Port) area then i have a pretty good idea which card machine is being used to take our details (as i have had 2 cards used for "Stagecoach" transactions and have only used the latest card in one machine!).
  • Another twist on this story...

I noticed the same problem on my account today, what was different though was one of the payments was on a different card, one that is never used online. So whoever is getting this info, seems to be getting info about all the cards on the account.

Curiously, just a week ago, I made a paypal payment.

My experience over Yesterday and Today has been a £6.00 debit by the imfamous "WP_STAGECOACH SERV", and then a £543 debit by "Easy Computers Ltd"

Strangely, the said laptop has actually turned up late this evening, abielt with a mis-spelt Christian & Surname. My card was cancelled late yesterday when i uncovered the dubious debits, so now i've got to contact Easy Computers AKA Laptopsdirect.co.uk to find out what they want doing with this laptop, and I don't want it, and presumed it was going to be delivered to some junkie to be sold on Ebay anyway !
  • After an initial transaction of £1.50 by the mysterious WP-STAGECOACH SERV, a withdrawal of £185 was made on the card to Premod- a french catagaloge.
The card has now been cancelled but when we considered where past purchases had been made on the card, they seemed to all be pretty large, respected companies such as amazon and play.com but one company stuck out a mile...

Just before christmas, a dvd was ordered from a website called dvd.co.uk. The dvd didnt arrive, the order was canceled by email, no money was taken out at that point by we didnt recieve any confirmation that the order had been cancelled. It felt a little dodgy at the time but do you think this may be the source of my problem?

Has anyone else had a similar experience with this site?
