I ordered my Weekly grocery shop for 5 plus rabbit and cat food , litter ect today for £61.30 . I cant believe how low this week .. I normally struggle to get it below £110. Well that all from just cooking old style and utilizing left overs
Chuffed to pieces . I did buy about £20 worth of party food separate (including a Thomas the tank birthday cake) but this was not from my grocery budget as I have the birthday money already budgeted ... its my sons 4th on next Monday and I hope not to shop between now and next Tues (other than card/gift shopping .... also already budgeted for)

Two NSD in a row!! Quite pleased with myself
I will have to spend tomorrow though as cats are low on cat littler so will have to buy some more
Was quite pleased with myself too, when I cooked dinner last night I did 4 gammon steaks, I would normally had given us two each but as they were a good size (my ones from the butchers) I gave us one each and put the other two in the freezer for another meal and because they're already cooked can just be defrosed and popped in the microwave to warm up
Got slow cooker on today with two minted lamb shanks in (OMG my house smells SO nice!!). Blanced the potatoes and put them in the tray ready, made my studding balls and put them in the tray, yorkshire puds ready (sorry frozen ones, not HM) and chopped my carrots up and in the pan ready.
Turned the oven off at the wall and put it to the temp I want so when hubby gets home from work he just has to flick the switch and it will be almost ready to dish up when I get home from workRead my diaryHere0 -
Hi all
I am a bit late but I want to try for £250 again. My first shop was huge at just over £80 but we needed washing powder, dishwasher tablets, coffee and lots of staples.
My teenagers never stop eating so I decided to start making puddings - maybe not every night but several times a week. Tonight was rice pudding which neither of them liked but OH wolfed down what they didnt want!
Lots of YS bargains in the Co*p tonight - but most of them still more expensive than the L*dl across the road.0 -
Topup of bread and milk today but still under target - abandoned HM bread - DH dropped it in bread bin and it made a noise as if he'd dropped a brick in there...!! DD described it (obviously trying to be polite) as "like banana bread without the banana". Oh well. Pizza dough and Yorkshires still going down well.
Will prob need something by Thursday but actually I think I'm better looking ahead 3-4 days rather than a whole week - for a week ahead I tend to buy things "just in case"GC Feb 2019 (to 10th) £397.07/£3000 -

Well been to Aldi to get daughters baking stuff for school, ended up stocking up of a load of cereal and fruit. We go out of it like its going out of fashion! Anyway, this resulted in a spend of £26.19. But should now have a couple of NSD.

We will be on holiday the week after next, just Butlins for the kids but I'm going to take out my usual grocery spends and use it for spending money (we've already got a meal plan so it won't really be for food)
That way I won't overspend on the dreaded coin machines and won't come home totally skint! Haha
I'm going to allow £40 £10 a day!I'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013

Well, I managed to get myself into gear and do my big Ocado shop today. I think I've covered just about everything other than the things that Aldi is significantly cheaper on, and my fresh foods. Total of £73.55 for the month, including my laundry and cleaning products, which brings me to a running total of £105.06 out of my first estimated GC budget of £400. My daughter has submitted a long distance food order for an Asda delivery to uni - got to price that up now (can you believe she's asking for fruit and veg!), so I'm hoping that doesn't come to anything much more than £50 for the month. £400 was a generous target to kick off, I'm hoping to come in around £300 if I can, if not less.3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200.
