Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
but hubby didn't put it in the fridge when I asked him to. I opened the tub it was in the morning and it didn't smell too good so gonna give that to the cats. So will be buying my lunch at work today which I didn't want to do. Plus I skipped breakfast as I was late up so had to get that at work which I also didn't want to do. So not off to a good start!!

Oh my goodness, that sort of thing would drive me mad. The thought of wasting good salmon. And I totally agree with you, you have to be crazy to eat fish thats been left out of temperature control over night. Good decision there.
Sorry to hear that about your brother. Hope you feel better soon.

    Morning DFW-ers,

    Thanks for the starter DNM.

Again today going to just add to this list as I do each thing.

    Nillionaire Month Four:

    * Limited caffeinated drinks to three today.

    * Turned alarm clock off at the wall til tonight.

    * Checked broadband allowance. Hmm rather low all of a sudden. Better be careful. Have done the SIM card shuffle.

    * £10 free voucher arrived! Redeemed it at Amazon for two boxed sets of a tv series.

    * Cleaned to of wardrobe before something valuable is swallowed by the dust.

    * Had free entertainment today at ParkRun (Link). I was Photographer today so no running kit to wash.

    * OH was going to re-cycle some unwanted audio cassette boxes. I have snaffled them to replace my scruffy looking ones.

    * Not going anywhere today so no spending.

    * Did job-seeking tasks.

    * Hunted high and low until I found my lost glove. Don't want to buy a new pair.

    Have a good day all.

So hubby got a few glares this morning!!
Thank you, we're hoping he can come out today :) xx

  • Just stumbled upon this thread, can't believe I've not spotted it before now!

Already done a few things today:

-Called sky to see if they could discount or give us free broadband ( an offer they have on for new customers ). They wouldn't so have completed an application to switch over to Talk Talk. Will save us £12.20 per month and went through Topcashback to get £111.10 cashback too :T

-Realised most of the shows we watch on Netflix are also on NowTV ( which we also have ) so cancelled Netflix saving another £5.99 per month

-Decided to stay in and watch a film on NowTV rather than going to the cinema

    Plans for tomorrow:

Not going anywhere so should be a NSD!
    • Dinner will be something from the freezer from last weeks batch cooking
    • Paint the kitchen ceiling
    • Clean kitchen and cooker
    • Do at least 1 load of washing
    • Make pizzas rather than getting our usual Sunday night takeaway!
    • Sort out clothes for charity shop

Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend! It's feeling really autumnal out there now. A friend has promised me some apples from her apples tree's so when I get them I will be stocking the freezer with crumbles and pies :D

  • Peace and contentment here. Have done a bit of housework, read my book, sorted a few things that needed doing. Have not spent anything.

I was invited out tonight but I have said no, I have been out quite a bit just lately and cant justify spending the money. I thought about driving and just going out for a couple of hours but it would still be spending money I dont really have. I am actually fine with this, will be happy to watch a bit of telly with OH anyway.

    Hello Weekend Frugalistas,
A pretty good day of money saving efforts so far:
*This week's grocery shopping came in at £18-85 under budget - I love Aldi! Updated grocery budget.
*Replaced ancient knackered iron - found one in Sainso's for £35 (reduced from £70)
*Checked online banking to see budget is where it should be. Heading for a bit of a tech-free zone imminently (family issues) so didn't want to come home to any nasty surprises of a financial nature.
    *Paid CC bill.
*Transferred mr f's £40 Onepoll money to Car Fund.
*Still on the subject of surveys, mr f received a full sized deodorant to test this morning. Postman also brought his £15 Sainso's gift card earned from Toluna surveys. STILL on the subject of surveys, I received another £5 voucher for an online survey project I'm on at the moment. Updated my signature. Caught up with all the Toluna Quick votes - 15 points a time, quite a few to do as have been away for a week.
*Did 5 x supermarket feedback survey prize draws. I guess somebody has to win these, & I think it's about high time it was me.
*Picked 2kg tomatoes from greenhouse. Turned 1kg of them into pasta sauce - 8 portions - for the freezer.
    *Picked & froze more blackberries.
*Laundry drying nicely on the line now that the sun is finally out. Washer on timer for a cheap wash overnight.
*Made a granary loaf in bread machine, also bread rolls by hand. Just about to go & bake those.
Feels like time for some leisure now. Have got plenty of knitting to do & catching up on TV recordings, maybe a bit of something from Amazon Prime too.
Should really be drying out our tent & scraping off goose poo but mr f has bravely volunteered for this glamorous task next week while I'm away dealing with family stuff.
    Enjoy your Saturday night, all.

  • [STRIKE] have a shower
 15 mins housework and declutter
 investigate one of those boards that goes under sofa cushions to prolong the life of our sofa - as you can tell I don't even know what they're called.
    check banking and PAD
 do a load of washing
    manage without the heating
 meal plan for next week, and batch cook
    [/STRIKE] no school work
 mark exam papers for extra £
[STRIKE] choose a new book to read from my massive stash of unread books[/STRIKE]

Well I got my quiet afternoon - even though it wasn't exactly as I planned it. I felt absolutely dreadful when I got home from the kids gymnastics class. I'll spare you all the gory details other than to say that I think I have gotten a bug of some sort. I've spent most of the afternoon lying in bed feeling sorry for myself but I have gotten some stuff done.
Not a NSD as the kids had lunch at the caf! before gymnastics (£4.55) and I ordered a sofa support from amaz0n (£12.29). I figured I would try for £12 rather than have to find a few hundred for a new sofa.
Luckily I had already done lots before gymnastics class, including cleaning the bathroom and turning the sofa cushions; roasting peppers and tomato to make soup and finding a new book to read. I hauled myself downstairs an hour ago to make dinner and everyone has eaten except me. Hope I'm better tomorrow because I quite like a Sunday lunch.
Meal plan is done but not risking much in the way of cooking tonight. I think a night in front of the telly is beckoning.
    See you tomorrow everyone.
