Hey Snaggles, it's right enough what Z says (isn't he always bl**dy right!) You should phone up again and ask the receptionist what the complaints procedure is, and then i bet you will get some news pretty darn quick.... complaints are so cumbersome to deal with, that places like that always try to head them off at the verbal stage, so i would call again. With a bit of luck the receptionist will catch the woman at lunch....
Yes, he is - annoying trait in a bloke, that! :rotfl:

I'll wait till tomorrow and then if they still haven't called I will ring up and ask about the complaints process, thanks. The people who make the policies in these places clearly don't have any kids, otherwise they would realise that every delay in getting help is like having your heart ripped out and stamped on repeatedly with steel toe-cap boots.
But as someone else so lovely put it..... Ryan will still be Ryan, and i think knowing will make you feel better but it won't alter anything you are doing cause you are getting everything so right already....

We're not doing everything right, I am sure, but we are learning. It can be a challenge but I don't mind, because he's a little superstar.

And nooooo.......Don't make me put the studded leather on..... :rotfl:

    Debauched? :p

Slightly annoying but sort-of positive CAMHS update in 3......

    2......

1......(to give me time to take a deep, calming breath, see.. :o)

Right, I have had 'the call'. Basically they STILL haven't managed to get Ryan's school to provide them with the information they need, and they do need it before confirming the diagnosis (I am soooo going into school tomorrow morning.....in my studded leathers....).

BUT she said she understood that it must be absolutely unbearable for us, and asked if I would like an indication of 'where they think they are going with this' (copyright: Management Speak for Dummies, volume 2). So I said I would, and she has told me that they have concluded that Ryan does have inherent difficulties, and they ARE expecting to have a diagnosis for me (bearing in mind they are the ASD team, I am taking that to mean that he will get a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder - although at this stage we don't know if they will confirm the specific Aspergers diagnosis).

I now have to wait another week  but at least I now know they do see what we see in Ryan, and they are not just going to put it down to bad parenting, which is my absolute worst fear.

    Also....some ACTUAL proper money news.

I have finally rung work and told them what hours I would like to do. I've given them a return to work date of 7th April (noooooo......it's too close....), so I just have to wait and see if they will agree to the hours I want now.

I need to get some money coming in again, I have NEVER felt as skint as this, even when we really WERE broke! :rotfl:

I know exactly what you mean, thanks hun. I mean, I'm not exactly going 'my son's autistic :j woohoo', but I am happy that it will be recognised, and he will get some help finally.

As someone said earlier, he already is what he is - the diagnosis wont change that - but it will just mean we have got something definite, a starting point, and we can work from there.
