Indeed, if that is the case. But what if someone, trusted by the other owners was appointed, the kickback went to the Residents' Association, and no vehicles on a white list could be ticketed.

I guess it's technically possible to do it in a fair and upstanding manner, just like it should be technically possible for a PPC to manage a car park in the same way.

allowing neighbours to ticket each other for £10 a pop with no oversight is going to result in a lot of spurious invoices.

Do you have real examples or is this just a fantasy?

I think that you will find that many landlords avoid HB tenants because of the extra problems they cause. Many insurance companies will not even insure properties with HB tenants in them. Also, many letting agents will not take them on their books. This is not bigotry, this is commercial good sense.

Which would make them very stupid landlords because it is an utter fallacy.

I have a dozen properties - 9 are rented to people getting HB currently. Over the last 10 years I've had problems with three sets of tenants - all private renters and supplied by those sharks known as Letting Agents. Two I've physically had to eject from a property because they made the properties uninhabitable.

On the odd occasion I have had an issue with an HB renter the council has dealt with them ( or the probation service for those that have just left prison ).

My landlord insurance didn't increase when I started taking HB renters.

If you work with the agencies then it works for you.

We obviously cater for different sections of the market, and I suspect that your premiums are much higher than mine.

Having read my links, do you still maintain that HB tenants are not a problem?

  • Hi
I have the same issue as lindsay1989. I've lived as a tenant in this new build flat since nov 2014. Parking has never been an issue. Then a new parking system started on 1st Sept 15. Every flat has one permit and only one car can park in the bays. Even this wasn't a problem as I have a permit. The permit sits in my car on my dashboard permenantly. Yet since 1st September I have received 3 tickets. Stating that I have not displayed a valid permit. When I have seen photos on the website they clearly show a permit displayed. I even caught a warden one day and asked why I would get tickets and she stated that looking at my permit there's no reason why I would receive a ticket. Yet I have received 3 in the space of a week. I have appealed all the tickets. The tickets are issued overnight. I had one at 1.36am, 2.45am and the 3rd one at 4.37am. Clearly those parked at night are residents. These are with UKPC. What should I do? I'm tired of waking up and going to my car to drive to work to see a ticket. Should I ring ukpc? Barratt homes? Or my landlords agent? The bays are now empty but why should I park elsewhere when I live there and I have a permit.

No, it is a full and frank discussion of the OP's situation.

BTW, what has happened to Quentin? I was hoping for an apology by now.
