Remove everything after "you offer PoPLA" It is nonsense and should be removed from the stickies. .
As for pursuing them for your costs, do not even think about it, you are in no position to threaten anybody. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
lyndsay - re: 'In regards to having written permission, I have text messages from the tenant agreeing to rent his space to me for the sum of £100.00 a month, would this be ok, or would I need to get a written statement for him?'
Turn this into print-out>paper trail/always, please. Specify calendar month[not lunar].

What? There is nothing wrong with self ticketing in certain circumstances. If I lived in an apartment and someone was parking in my space, I would be very cross indeed.
There is everything wrong with self ticketing, on the one hand you have PPC's bleating on about their high standards, trained staff, uniforms, and how professional they are, with the BPA denying knowledge of any incentive schemes.
Then on the other hand you have the same scammers handing out bounty to any old Muppet with fingers to slap charges on anyone they feel they want to, including but not limited to a neighbour who they just do not get on with. The scummy PPC then has the audacity to harass the target with their arsenal of under handed tactics with very little evidence other than some morons hand held Samsung after a sleepless night! More drivel TD, I think you are getting past it old boy!0 -

There is everything wrong with self ticketing,
I disagree.
Are you a landlord? If not, clearly you do not understand the problem rogue parkers can cause. Without some form of deterrent, they can cause serious inconvenience.
Not every block of flats has a Managing Agent, some are self managed by leaseholders and for them self ticketing is an attractive option. They can white list their own vehicles and target abusers and trespassers.
The people whom Madam Ampersand so vilifies in such a ridiculous way are mostly owner occupiers trying to protect their home from the antisocial elements in their midst.
If I lived in my own flat where tenants, whether paying the rent themselves or on HB, were parking in my space, I would certainly volunteer for the Norris Cole part.
I am may be getting past it, but you appear not to have reached it yet.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

You sir are a hypocrite and can't see past the end of your very biased snout.
I though better of you, but you obviously are little better than the PPC's that you often berate.0 -

The fact you even need to mention HB just highlights how bigoted you are. But we knew that, so will move on.
You know fine well that self-ticketing is open to all sorts of corruption (there's essentially no oversight and a cash incentive!) and is far from the best way to deal with rogue parkers. The rogues will still ignore the self ticket. It doesn't nothing that a bollard doesn't do better.0 -
I think that you will find that many landlords avoid HB tenants because of the extra problems they cause. Many insurance companies will not even insure properties with HB tenants in them. Also, many letting agents will not take them on their books. This is not bigotry, this is commercial good sense.
This may well not accord with your views on equality and fairness, but, like it or not, HB tenants are considered a poorer risk than those able to pay the rent themselves.
You say that self ticketing is open to corruption, I will have to take your word for it as I have never owned a property connected with it, (and, I suspect, neither have you). You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I've never kicked a tiger in the gentlemans region either, but I can comprehend enough to know that it's not a wise move.
It only takes a basic understand of metric gaming and sociology to know that allowing neighbours to ticket each other for £10 a pop with no oversight is going to result in a lot of spurious invoices. There's always one in a large block who thinks they are doing their duty, and there's at least one who's just in it for the money or vengeance.
As for HB, I'm aware they are regarded as less desirable and a lot of landlords have issues with them. It's still got exactly 0 to do with parking. Regardless of how the rent is paid, a car parked in your space is still in your space. The fact you need to bring them up just highlights how you seem to hold them in even more contempt than the usual riff-raff tenants.0 -

Indeed, if that is the case. But what if someone, trusted by the other owners was appointed, the kickback went to the Residents' Association, and no vehicles on a white list could be ticketed. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
